How can anyone diminish Ago's accomplishments? Anything said about Ago can also apply to Rossi.

Bike advantages.......CHECK
Best teams............Check
Lack of competition...CHECK

They both achieved more than others for a time and their skill was what gave them the advantages they had. If there is a big difference between the two its that Ago didn't have records to chase and could walk away. Rossi also stuck around long enough for new competition to emerge and challenge if not surpass his talent, making him less deserving of his advantages. That's why the Ducati debacle really happened and why he came back to Yamaha as a #2 at a value far below his team mate.

A small tip:
on ESPN Classic, you can look at the TOP TEN
of the Valentino Rossi Races ...
And the commentary on the program goes as follows:
"" Valentino Rossi is considered
the best GP-moto rider (for)ever!!! ""
Voila ladys and this time it wasn't me who said it ...

Agostini is an old man, and should stay home to water his plants. His time has long been gone and should be home reading the moto gp newspaper and not making comments on what he cannot understand. Yes, he has won alot of titles, and moto gp today is completely differemt than the 1970's. Everything else is as well. He should wish Valentino the best, scince after all, Valentino has won 9 world titles against much more competitive riders and motorcycles than Agostini in his time. It's too bad, i had agostini figgured out wrong, i thought he was a true sportmanship and gentleman, and hes proven to show the opposite of this. Make no mistake, Ducati is a much inferior bike than Yamaha, when the lights go out in the first race valentino will show what hes trully made of.

@Moto Guru.
i think ago is more than qualified to voice his opinions , just because he's getting old and hasn't raced for a long time don't mean he isn't keeping up with the times , besides , if you can come here and voice your opinion and call yourself moto guru then its all reasonable for a real moto guru to also speak his opinion.

Agostini should stay home to water the garden. It's more than 30 years since he got on a competition moto gp style bike. He is intitled to his opinion and its certainly out of date. He's expired. It's a shame people and media have lowered themselves to start a fight in an empty room. It's now become a numbers game of consistency, and should be addressed as such. Being consistent and fast is Valentino. Something agostini never mastered. The MV agusta of the 60-70's was a superior bike and he did well. He never had to compete against the likes of pedrosas or stoners and others. It's a different time. Go home ago, and water the garden.
