Rossi keeping the profile and expectations lower is a smart move. I'd be surprised if he isn't competitive. As long as he's in the top 3-4 throughout the season and at least occasionally wins he will have done his job but of course a championship season would be even better but Lorenzo and Pedrosa will be tough. As a fan I hope his confidence returns quickly and that he acclimates himself on the new M1 just as quick. Let's hope there are more lead challenges then in past years.

2 Factory Yam and 2 factory Hondas, he proved himself that the talent to win with a Duc is no longer on the grid. 3rd or 4th should be a given not an accomplishment, he only needs to beat a rookie for that to happen. The question is can he compete with Jorge and Dani in the championship and that will require beating them more than a few weekends.

Anybody prepared to write Valentino off is an idiot!! Valentino has had it all said before that he was past it, lost it, needs to pack in etc.etc. He will come back believe me and once again all the doubters will have to eat their words!!

These two are so far up one another, they will do anything between them so that rossi can win. The sooner rossi retires and goes away the better for us all, apart from the yellow brigade that is..

Rossi has had to eat humble pie over the last two years and it is bound to have had an effect on his confidence. But write him off at your peril. He is going to be absolutely determined to make amends for the Ducati debacle and you know a determined Rossi is a dangerous Rossi.I think he is going to come out with a point to prove this season.Lets hope so.The more people we have fighting at the pointy end the better.Wishing him to retire is a bit childish guys!
Grow up.
Rossi hasnt been my favourite rider over the years, but i am realistic enough to appreciate the great races he has been involved in and what he has done for the sport.

@ Racer X

yep agree Crutchlow has good history on the superbikes from BSB and did well on the 1000 although he now needs to stop crashing and improve the consistency as that is what really counts to get points on the board each round.
However as it was the 1st year of the 1000cc all 4 M1's started on a par but 1 yeasr on will the Tech3 bikes be as they were last year with all the focus now on moving Lorenzo & Rossi's bikes forward thus creating the 2 tier M1's that ran in the past. Hopefully not as he has proved quick in races finishing close at the end timewise so hopefully yamaha get the finger out for ALL M1's and he's in with a chance.
Rossi defo dumbing down his chances and he'll get up to speed but hopefully Audi move the Ducati on to give Hayden & Dovi a competitive bike

GP has been progressively more boring over the years. You take Rossi out of GP and the it wouldn't be worth the time to watch. I was counting on simoncelli to keeping GP exciting. Hopefully Marquez will breathe some more life into the sport.
