Nobody knows how well this 34 year old former legend will perform this season, but rest assure he will win races.
The championship however I feel he has 3 main problems and they are all Spaniards on factory equipment and equal tyres...
Long gone are the days when he had all the cards stacked in his favour.
His dictatorship of this championship is over and we have seen his demise. :)

Ezpeleta said long before the end of last season that Rossi would have a competitive bike in 2013 - because he was helping to ensure that Rossi could move back to Yamaha. He has put his eggs in this basket and he is hoping he doesn't end up with egg on his face.

It is these types of machinations that convinced Stoner to retire. Dorna is looking at the bottom line and they believe that Rossi winning again will draw crowds and improve television equity. For them to actively manipulate the series like this is not good for the sport in the long term.

Why would anyone be surprised that Carmelo is backing Rossi. He draws the biggest crowd....simple. Promoters pay Tiger Woods $3 million just to turn up to some events, whats the difference?
You people to want to watch to ensure the "business" of racing motorcycles continues. Just get over it

Having read some particular postings on here got me to feel ashamed to call myself a human being knowing such irony that there are some who would prefer to see manipulated champion rather than a really worthy one.If only we still knew what sport and its morale means!

this is simply the very frame of mind dorna has had for a decade , its why everytime stoner found harmony rules would be changed for the following year to cut him back , stoner was dorna's nightmare because vale had the paying fans , only a numbscull would not see this was happening.
just wait for stoners biography and i'll bet a ming stoner himself will mention this as why he disliked carmello and pitied vale , there was and is no fair chance for any rider that threatens the cash flow of dorna's interests.
