"He joined because Yamaha chose Jorge and Rossi had nowhere else to go.

You're lying again. Rossi left because Yamaha asked Rossi to take a hefty pay cut to save costs. Rossi agreed (over 5 million) then he found they'd given that money to Jorge. Rossi had won 4 WC at that point foy Yamaha and Lorenzo had won 0. THAT is why Rossi left

Yamaha offered Lorenzo and Rossi the same amount of money. Rossi didn't like it, too bad.

Rossi pitched a fit and demanded Yamaha choose between the two. They chose to pay both of them equally. Rossi still didn't like it so he had two choices, stay at Yamaha and look weak by backing out of his ultimatum, or go to Ducati.

Instead of Rossi making equal money as Jorge and possibly another WC (or two), he is now back at Yamaha, making far less than he would had he originally stayed, and has two years of the Rossi myth defunct.

@Radu you are a prime example of a delusionist, when Vale hasn't got the pace anymore all he has left is publicity stunt's and there will be plenty of that this season as there won't be any wins

Although Rossi is paid less by Yamaha, Rossi will earn more from personal sponsorship, merchandising etc., etc., But who's actually funding the funds to let Yamaha go racing?
90% of the budget comes from the sponsors. Monster is a personal sponsor of Rossi, Lorenzo's contract has been paid by Monster and Lorenzo won't get extra money from Monster even if he wins
Rossi is a brand itself that sells and sponsors dig that and are paying to travel along the success Rossi had. Lorenzo was more a caricature of Rossi trying to be the same. Rossi doesn't have to race to get sponsors in, Lorenzo is winning races and championships and still isn't attractive to sponsor......

some of these comments are so funny. do you even know the guy and you talk about him like you live next door. he has to be one of the only riders out there with this italian passion and you never know this could be when jl feels threatened and makes more mistakes especially as theres that new death trap about. whats his name... oh yeh thats right marc marquez.

@ Dr. Who,

Yes, Monster bought out Lorenzo's Rockstar contract. Ever wonder why? Wouldn't happen to be that Monster is afraid Rockstar would finish ahead of them would it?

So again, Rossi leaves Yamaha and it gives Lorenzo a nice pay raise. Rossi returns to Yamaha, with Lorenzo already making roughly four times what Rossi will be, then gets an added bonus of more money from Monster. Lorenzo is really having it rough huh?
