'We don't have a 'new bike' as such, it hasn't changed a lot from last year, but we're taking small steps' - Nicky Hayden

@Codger
I feel for your chill to the bones.
CS's 3 wins in his last year with Ducati is hardly a sometimes compared to Dani's 4 or to Rossi's 2.
that year Ducati was still regular podiumer,polesitter with big margin of gap when winning.it only lost its consistency through race distance in most track.

Ducati is finally going to be on a normal development path, thanks to Audi.

Instead of running around trying to throw new parts on thee bike to please one rider. (JB said he lost count of all the chassis variations they tried)they will have 4 identical platforms collecting data for the engineers to use. This will lead to refinement and steady improvement (still not enough to beat Jorge or Dani most likely).

They also have a good mix of riders with different strengths that will push the bike hard in their own ways, also helpful. They were too quick to toss aside parts beacuse Rossi didn't like them. There was a hint of that when Rossi used Haydens settings after being lost and went immediately faster. You have to push a bike to the limit to get a good setup and Rossi wouldn't do that, even in QP. As a better rider he could beat hayden when he had the benefit of Nicky's hard work. I guess that could be another reason why he alowyas needed his teammates data but wouldn't share hi

A poster has pulled me up on saying "sometimes", and quite right too. Maybe I should have said something like "not always"
Casey wrung it's neck, he didn't always finish as high as his efforts deserved, and 'sometimes' the bike wrung HIS neck.

@kenlucky kid
where did you get that haydon can develop a bike
he isn't number one in the team, they want him in the team because they sell more bikes in usa than anywhere else or he'd be gone, 4 years and no wins and no wins this year in his one year contract
