Will Andrea Dovizioso, Nicky Hayden, Ben Spies or Andrea Iannone achieve something Valentino Rossi could not - win a MotoGP race for Ducati?

No! The two rookies wont win in a dry race unless others have problems. Nicky wont if only because the bike hasn't changed. Dovi, I want him to win 10 in a row, but he'll take it steady for a few races while he gets dialled in and then he'll be fighting for 5th places.

Sorry for calling Ben a rookie, after last year he will have to learn how to ride a GP bike again. I wish him well but we have to see if his heart is still in it.

Maybe in the rain and if everyone else crashes. I don't think Dovi or any of the others are going to get even close to Stoner on that bike. I'd say 6th - 7th for Ducati nxt year with the odd podium on a wet race.

It's possible we could see a win in the wet. I hope Dovi does get a chance to shine though! At best I reckon Dovi will be fighting for a mid grid position, but we shall see!

Not even turned a wheel and ducati have been written off, seems the bike requires an aggressive rider, crutchlow would have been ideal to ride the six, in fact anybody who rides it needs to ride it like they've stolen it, they may cause an upset but I agree unless pedrosa and lorenzo fall off best they can hope for is 3rd

Very doubtful. It would take a bizarre set of circumstances. Maybe if they timed a pit stop perfectly in a flag to flag race. Otherwise it will be another Honda/Yamaha show.

Shame there's only 6 odd bikes capable of race wins - I predict it'll only be the works teams standing on the top step again as a result of sponsorship pressures.

Not a hope!! Not even Casey Stoner could give them a win!!! The rest of the riders would have to all either fall off, suffer mechanical malfunctions or some other problem for one of these bikes to win a race!!! Ducati need to open their eyes before they ridicule themselves even further eith their arrogance!!

Can Ducati win?

In the dry, no. That is only for the exclusive club on the sorted Japanese factory bikes. Full stop.

In the wet? It's possible, but frankly I consider it unlikely. It'd take an incident to wipe out the usual suspects even then I think. Remember even DP seems to go really well on tha Factory Honda in the wet these days.

This is not a pop at Ducati, just realism. Playing catch-up without more testing time means they are hamstrung with a disadvantage over Honda & Yamaha that is next to impossible to overcome. The dice are loaded, and the riders who will fill the podium spots pretty much all the time is already foreseeable - just check the odds laid against anyone NOT on a Factory HRC or Yam.
