History repeating???

Media announced his retirement but he says he hasnt decided yet. A week later, he announce his retirement.

Now, media announces his V8 career but stoner says he hasnt confirmed anything yet. So within the next week, we should expect stoner to announce a signing.

He really thinks he does everything on his own terms but the news is already out and people are already moving on with plans/decisions etc. while he is trying to nurse his egotistical self perception.

I think he will continue in his moaning ways and will rub alot of his fellow drivers up the wrong way...pitty.

PS why does rossi get mentioned on this thread and I am a rossi fan?

@p996 how do you know there are plenty of drivers out there blah blah blah?

If they are so good they would be driving, it takes more than driving ability to win, if you havent got the get up and go to get yourself a seat in a car you probably are not a winner anyway, irrespective of your "driving ability" !!!!!!!!

Not suggesting he is going to do any good but he has earned a seat if he wants to give it a go.

Stoner does not seem to like the close racing as others have mentioned. Equally, there are a number of fiery characters in V8s who don't pull their punches (pity Skaifie aint still there) so I don't expect that Casey will be able to shoot his mouth off without getting a blast back. As for on the track all I can say is I think it will be an education. But I would pay a large amount to watch Rossi at the mountain that would be gold...

still going hard eh dave.
the reason stoner is saying he hasn't signed a deal is because he hasn't signed a deal.
the deal is there but its not signed , he ain't denying anything and at the same time he can't confirm anything until there is actually something to confirm.
i think vale would actually love racing in the v8s , he has a lot of car racing experience and would probably go well.

you say if casey shot his mouth he'd get a blast back , probably true , the same would apply to vale if he ran around doing his theatrics as well i presume.
oh and dave....stoner wanted to publicly announce his retirement after the island in 2011 but nakamoto wouldn't let him , he had to deny the rumors for honda.

why do you even bother with Dave, he is and will always be so anti Stoner that even if Rossi told him directly about how good Stoner is he would still disagree.

The other riders say Stoner is a fair rider who gives them racing room So I don't think he will have big problems with the other drivers - unless they resent his pace!

I am not so sure Rossi would fit in in this environment any better though he would doubtless have the required pace.

@ausrossi "Stoner doesn't seem to like close racing as others have mentioned......."

Where do you dream this stuff up?

He is fast and a lot of riders struggle to keep up but what's he supposed to do, slow down and let them catch up then speed up again and pretend he is racing them?

These days they all pretty much ride there own races trying to juggle fuel and tyres so that they can be in a good position at the end.

Really, how did you come to this conclusion ?I would like to understand how your mind works?

It was never a "big secret" was it! As soon as Casey announced his retirement from MotoGP, it was the first thing that was mentioned!! Anyway, why would it be a "secret" at all?? Who cares????

If Stoner was worried that MotoGP was a popularity contest then he'll have to learn to get used to it quick in V8's.

The grid's full of loosers that haven't won a round let alone a race in 5-6 years but still have their bums on a seat because they have a fan base and bring in the almighty sponsor dollar.

Just like MotoGP, the V8's series isn't there to give drivers awards for being the best, the drivers are front men that exist to generate revenue to pay for the series. That's why they headline it as the Greatest "Show" on Earth...
