@ The way that some of you talk about MM, I think you would all be better of at a knitting competition. MM is one of the the most exciting riders to grace MGP in recent years and many of you are already knocking him for being too agressive! I can't believe it!

Yet when Simoncelli (RIP) was doing it he was exciting and a breath of fresh air.

"press attention for MotoGP is light years ahead of that for Moto2" press attention may be focused on money but I reckon racing fans attention will be focussed on Moto2 where the racing is, followed by a light slumber through MotoGP. I'm hoping against hope that riders like MM can change this, but MotoGP bikes are just too expensive and sophisticated to be able to race.

I think he'll be learning his lessons this rookie year. He'll probably be barking up the wrong trees & get punted off the track few times. I expect a lot of maturity & results towards the end of '13.

Young, fast, fearless, and at times reckless, there is no in between with MM: he's either the hero or the villain and that's what makes him so important for the sport. The actual on-track product has been on a downward spiral, but he'll at least make headlines, one way or another.

Replace all those CRT bikes with prototype bikes, Shuhei Nakamoto wouldn't feel the same about Marquez's podium chances.

At least, there were 3 CRT riders could outrun Marquez when they ride Motogp prototype bike.

Sweeble covered it very well in his post above for me. Not only is Moto2 FAR better racing, but he hit the nail on the head about the factory bikes being too close to 100% optimised for there to be anywhere for a rider to make the difference, so not much passing or a real race.

And yet, so many still spout that the solution is to "Replace all those CRT bikes with prototype bikes",

yet no-one considers that MotoGP might just be saved and provide the thrills of Moto2 if that sentence above was reversed.

Imagine JL, VR, DP, MM, CC, AD, NH, SB, AB etc. all on pretty even bikes like CRT's? Think about it - wouldn't that be damn good to watch? Stop getting hung up about the lap time - concentrate on the quality racing in a field like that!
