Sad to see one of the greats leave the sport under this type of a cloud. But I am glad he did it on his terms, and was able to leave in terms of injury relatively unscathed. I wish him all the best in AV8. I hope he does well.

I agree with the comment about those spitting on him were not fans but scum. Sad to see people taking their passion for a sport to a dark and ugly place.

CS " Unfortunately they didn't like my honesty in the paddock. "

( Slow hand clap ) Well bravo you bitter sanctimonious little prick.

MotoGP gave you everything. And don't mistake spouting of bitter, whining crap ( along with lashing out at fellow racers ) as ' honesty '!

Good racer.

Bad human.

He shouldn't have dissed Simoncelli's memory. That's just jealousy because Simmo was far better liked in the paddock and by the public.
CS27 says he gets no respect. I think he gets plenty of respect but it simply isn't enough to satisfy him.
If he carries on criticising the riders, the teams and the whole paddock atmosphere he will erode whatever respect he has and be even less welcome in MotoGP.
If he had any sense he'd keep it zipped and let the controversies die down.
THAT would earn him some respect.

@ Busa Boy "Was Stoner the only Motogp rider who was not at Simoncellis funeral?
No.So why do you and others attack him and say nothing about the others who were not there?"

Because he was the one that brought it up. It's a pot/kettle moment.

I was about to ask Farewell the same question as Busa Boy but i see Farewell has already given his pathetic answer!
Three quarters of the grid didnt attend Marcos funeral yet the yellow pantygirls single out Stoner for attack.
How truly typical of them.

@99, its called hypocrisy, noone is immune, but when people attack others for being what they already are .... well its plane enough to see.

If Casey doesnt want to be part of the 'show' anymore thats his call, but I dont see him being 'arrogant' or 'egotistical' just honest and fed up. But I guess in some people's worlds you are supposed to just shut up and be a good 'puppet.' Sad commentary from people who have been at the foot of a television for too much time in their own lives I would suspect.

If the man can 'flow' and be 'honest' with his instincts and technical skill in the car, he should be just as successful, assuming he has a car thats in good 'enough' shape. Hes got great reflexes, an open mind, and a will to own the better racing lines.

I just think he whines too much, he should just get on with the riding and shut up. To be fair to him he didn't like it and left, however he just keeps on whining even now. He talks about respect but he didn't have any respect for any one, he just slagged people off and whined on when he lost. He kept on whining about how Ducati treated him......... what is he on about? They treated him great, they just didn't have the best bike.

Stoner will never be as popular as Stoner or even Marco was, they just get on with the racing and don't bitch and whine when things aren't going their way. The 2 years at Ducati where Rossi might as well not have been in Moto GP, not once did Rossi start bitching about it. When Rossi loses to other riders, he doesn't make excuses like Stoner does.

People like a cool character like Rossi or even Kimi or Alonso in F1, people don't like a whiner like Stoner or even in F1 Vettel. He may have won 3 championships (Vettel) but he cries like a stupid kid.

I dont recall Casey whining about being overtaken in a race, he did complain about almost getting pushed in to a wall at Laguna though... In case you didnt see how quickly he changed his direction after being almost pushed off the track ...
