to Rossi's fans or Stoner's fans: stop hating each other like you guys knew the riders personally. Why dont you just let them live their lives. We just watch them on tv.

it is plain and simple , he said he feel out of love for the sport, because it change from what it used to be, in life, if your wife change the way it used to be, chances is that, you may also felt out of love, plain and simple.why would you stick to it when you dont enjoy doing it.

Nicho last time I checked no one forced Casey to get married or have kids. Also look a Colin Edwards 83 yo, 2 kids and wife and clutches on anything in MotoGp for grim death because he LOVES it. As for leaving because it was being dummed down easy for Casey to say, a full prototype class would mean 4 bikes plus Ducati 1.5 seconds back. Also this coming from the great Australian who was approach by the organisers of PI to do a 30 sec piece to camera while @ PI and refused to promote his home GP WTF. And sorry the reference to Simoncelli is hypocritical.

I often didn't agree with what he said, but as one of the greatest riders ever, I would certainly listen. He was not afraid to give his unvarnished opinion and that made the sport more interesting. As for the fans that sometimes booed or abused him, I just feel embarrassed, you don't do that to a fellow human being, let alone a rider whose talent you respect.

@Vilas, you seem to have too much time on your hands!

I cant wait for V8 Supercars.
I can just hear the commentary now.
"And at half way through the season Casey is showing in this race that he can be competitive as he is fast approaching third place here. Oh what's all this, Stoner has turned out of the stadium, Oh whats that we hear, from the garage? Apparently Casey has radioed in to say he is off for a bit of break and will be back next season"
Cut to Huggies Ad.

New found respect for this model sportsman.

He wishes no part in all the power play within the sports and has spoken out against it but the politics and media has in certain ways- character killed a talented and valuable asset. - think JFK.

Stoner understands the risks he takes to as a job and he feels hard done by , by how misunderstood and perhaps deceived the spectators are.

Such is life isn't it. When you see through all the gloss and sugar coats, and its all bile.

Motorsports like any other big exposure programmes will always be run by the big sponsors and they can only have one hero. The rest are antogonists.

"We lost a rider a couple of years ago (Marco Simoncelli) and within a month it was like it never happened".
WOW.
WTF.
Why would he even mention that. If he felt so strong about loosing a fellow rider, why did he not even go to Simo's funeral?
What a hypocrite.
