People are voting with there hopes more than logic. Plus this years bike is nothing like last years. That is why they are testing to find the best balance. Plus the last Yammi that Rossi rode has been developed by 2 yrs plus. So he will have to adjust, for Lorenzo it will only be a small change. Do not be surprised if one of the new kids on the block sets outstanding times. there are some very talented riders in their first and second years.

Dear All fellow rossi fans, please remember that Valentino IS/ was a good qualifier.

At his peak, he was regularly at the front row. He only stopped putting in quick qualifying / test laps on the Ducati. Justifying poor test times by saying he is only good on distance, (even though racecraft is one of his main strengths)would be hiding from the truth.

If he doesn't put it on the sharper end in testing (in my opinion he has to be within 3 tenths of top time), I will be worried.

Listening to people prematurely make excuses for him is cringe worthy. However, fingers crossed he goes well

OMFG-- what kind of people have voted on this? Rossi fastest? After 2 years on the Ducati?? I'll admit it is possible, although not very likely. But...

SMITH??????!!! Really? A rookie on satellite kit faster than Pedrosa, Lorenzo, Rossi, Marquez, Crutchlow? Are you f-ing kidding??!!!

Common sense tells Pedrosa should be the fastest at Sepang. He or Lorenzo, anyway. It will depend on how much progress both bikes have made so far. Rossi and Marquez have to potential to be every bit as fast, but they need to get used to the bikes, especially Marquez. Crutchlow could also be near the top of the timesheets, considering he's fast and doesn't have to test so much stuff as the official riders, so he can concentrate on laptimes.

I'd say Pedrosa 1st, Lorenzo 2nd, Crutchlow 3rd.

I really don't agree with most of you, but then again, it is just an opinion.
I think the results of this test will set the direction of this championship: I think Dani and Jlo to top the sheets, but if Rossi lags more than half an second it is a given that he won't make it to the top - ever. Marquez, being less experienced, may not give right away a show of his true value but if he continues to be over a second from the top I don't expect him to mix with the big guys this season. However, Marquez will probably be only a few tenths away from Dani or Jlo.

Difficult to say since it is a "test" but here goes nothing

1. Pedrosa
2. Lorenzo
3. Marquez
4. Rossi
5. Dovi
6. Crutchlow
7. Hayden
8. Spies

Tough to call since they will be working on specifics ie braking, corner exit setup with electronics so really, they are not putting together race laps at this point. Also, with Rossi coming back after being on the Ducati he'll need time to adjust as will the others who are moving to new rides. I would consider the later tests to be a better judgement of who will be fast this year, first test is just that a test. Fast or slow I would not read too much into it at this point.
