Bottom line is............who the hell cares what Simon thinks. The guy has as much chance of becoming Motogp champion as LCTanner has of becoming the next president of the Casey Stoner appreciation society!

So many Dr Phil's on here it's a joke, you all say that Stoner never gave respect! What a complete dose of BS.

Get a life, no one but those there know what happens behind the doors of Dorna.
The only time we ever knew what was happening by Dorna hand was when they announced that Rossi would be on a competitive bike in 2013 then a couple of months later Spies was out of Yamaha.

That mistake by Dorna won't happen again, so behind the curtin everything goes in favor of the show

Stoner's communication skills are not the issue. Rossi's fans English comprehension skills are. When Casey says ' we lost a rider ( Simoncelli) and then a couple of races later it was like it never happened', he's referring to the accident itself, ie the peril riders face. He was NOT saying it was like Marco Simoncelli never happened, or his death never occurred which would both be ludicrous statements. It's just Stoners detractors looking hard for a reason to take offense at something he's said again, same old story. Stoner made the doctor look a bit silly and for that he'll neve be forgiven.

@ Dr GP

"Rossi was not, as you say, hammered by Stoner and Lorenzo. They beat him sometimes, he beat them sometimes"

Really? Stoner has 38 wins to Rossi's 26 whilst they've been racing eachother, with more podiums and a higher points average, and he spent twice as long on the Ducati than Rossi. If you look at the time racing eachother whilst they've both been on factory machines it's even more of a hammering, 38 wins to 21..

Lorenzo has 23 wins to Rossi's 17 whilst theyve been racing, though Lorenzo has the advantage of never having had to ride the Ducati.

Casey should of realised that if you put yourself in the public domain your going to have your critics as well as your supporters especially in motogp where there is more pressure and everything becomes more acute very quickly. He wasn't mentally strong enough to handle the critisism. He let it get to him and that was his undoing.

@kursk .
it has nothing to do with stoners mental strength.
its to do with too many people not understanding what he ever says and just go jumping up and down with there own translation that matches there own dislike of him.
certainly still one of the most popular anyway , just look at this thread!! , do you think a julian simon would get nearly as many comments as a vale thread if stoner wasn't mentioned in it.

fair play to simon, he's made more sense in this one statement than stoner has made in his whole career.

I took this as the usual stoner trash talk until i got to the marco bit which i find quite offensive.
it just shows the level of this boys arrogance to assume that everybody else forgot after a month just because they continued to do their job and race each other.

as for a future return? i doubt he will ever feel the sport has become sterile enough to warrant it worthy of his return, but if he does im sure it will be preceded by a stone wall denial in the press about a week before he signs, remember he always says it like it is

@Brolong22 nice post. "fair play to Simon". Why? IHe's only demonstrated his stupidity... Julian who? Not one of the comments here are about his riding, his prospects, or anything else. He's the genius that celebrates victory with a lap to go...can't count or read his pit board. No-one cares what he thinks. He's simply milking a pseudo controversy in the hope that it will build his "brand". His riding won't do it. He had his opportunity, and had all the success he's likely to have. Good luck to him as he fades into obscurity. Fair play indeed. He should focus on how he's going to actually improve his backwards slide in Moto2.

Stoner's comments weren't the least bit disrespectful to Simoncelli, but if you were offended by them, perhaps that was what you wanted.
