Wonder if Simon hates Stoner just like I have been accused of just because I also thought what Stoner said about Simo was out of line.
Shame on you Julian.
And if I ever see Stoner at the V8's, I'm going to tell him what a tool he was making that statement.

"They want to see biff and barge and they don't realise our lives are on the line. We became puppets in that world, and it had nothing to do with racing."

Close racing is a thing of the past when you look back at the 40 bikes fields of years gone by.

One of the reasons the current MotoGP is boring is because the racing is not close, gaps between riders are large.

Then ad the pussy electronic rider aids and it is even worse.

Motorcycle racing should always be exciting, the last 4 years have been boring but hopefully this year will be good.

Bring back the 1,000cc bikes from years ago when the riders actually had to ride them.

Most of the current riders would be off the bike in no time, electronics have dampened their skills.

When i read Stoner's article i assumed he was talking about the racing authorities when refering to Marco being forgotten and not the other riders/fans/paddock in general. After losing Marco Dorna and co threatend the other riders to go to Japan even though there were safety issues after the tsunami induced nuclear leaks. Reference his remarks about the show must go on etc. Rider safety is way down the list of Dorna's priorities, making $$$ is what matters to them.
Reference the laughable comment about CS not lasting half a lap in WSB, he'd be out of sight of the rest of the field well before then

At the end of the day CS wanted it both ways he wanted to say what he thought (which was variously interpreted as telling it like it is or spouting crap) but then somehow not be held to account. I wonder about his communication skills because seemed to say alot of things in such a way that they could easily be misinterpreted (and agree that the media is also to blame) but blind freddy could see that some of those statements would garner a pretty strong response which he then used as one basis for him leaving. As Ozzy Osbourne once sang those you criticise (constantly) you make your enemy...

I think the comment about Simoncelli has been taken out of context. He was indicating that nothing has been done to improve safety since the accident to prevent another fatality. He is also critical of the fact that some riders seem to get away with dangerous moves that put other riders at risk.

I tend to agree with him on both counts. Hard racing is one thing but some moves last year were very dangerous and not many sanctions were handed out.

@ Objective.
"I think the comment about Simoncelli has been taken out of context. He was indicating that nothing has been done to improve safety since the accident to prevent another fatality".

What a load of crap.
Sorry, but that is in no-way the point he was trying to make. IMHO.
