i hate to bust your guys' bubbles but Rossi is a rider who demands strong breaking and the 2012 bike is not the 2011 bike, Ben Spies showed us just how different and temperamental it is.

Dovi put a lot in to trying to make the bike fit his style of riding (similar to ROssi) but he could never match the pace of Cal or Lorenzo who use less braking and more corner speed.

Dont be surprised to see Rossi slower than Cal. Dont be surprised to see the Hondas much stronger on the brakes having to manage chatter but still faster.

@marco polo

did you read my post buddy?

I said Dovi could never really match the pace of Cal or Lorenzo and he never really did, care to refute that point, I dare you.

Getting podiums by relying on the fact that there are only 4 factory bikes with a chance of a podium, and one of them has no chance in he11 (see Spies) then take in to account Stoner's absence, and then every now and then one of the front runners drop out.

Dovi got podiums because he can keep his head and he understands the value of out breaking people, as does Rossi. His results however do not reflect his pace which was slower than Cal's.

@ prof-x
You did watch the racing last year didn't you ?
In the racing I watched dovi finished ahead of crutchlow more times than crutchlow ahead of dovi, and nobody expected either of them to stay with Lorenzo so that point is immaterial. As for the honda's this year, we'll just have to wait and see as with all the other bikes. Speculation is pointless, test sessions are not a true indication of how the races will go either, until the chequered flag comes down on the first couple of races nobody really knows how thing are looking.
And racing is about more than just puting in a couple of fast laps, keeping a cool head under pressure , consistency and race craft will often get you just as good if not better results than pure speed alone which is why dovi ended the season ahead of cal.
