17 agree. 1 disagrees.
i am dissappointed with ducatis..... I thinks fans should really stop omparing rossi and stoner now... these ducatis are really not those which we used to see a few years ago.... hayden behind 2 test riders wtf

I'm sure Rossi fans would like that, however the argument doesn't hold water. Rossi was 2 seconds a lap slower than Stoners times at Valencia on the same bike Casey raced just days beforehand. Rossi has said he could not ride the Ducati like Stoner could, and has since admitted he doesn't know how Casey was so fast on it. And it's always been that way, lok at Melandri's times or even Capirossi's times compared to Stoner way back in 2007 - 2008. Without Stoner Ducati would have been in this exact position for years.

Take out the test riders, swap Crutchlow and Bradl/Lorenzo and Pedrosa round a few times and repeat over and over.

That's the season right there.

This championship is so boring and to heavily dictated by machinery.

Far too early to draw any conclusions, most riders just bedding in, although Honda did test here in November so should have an edge.Day two should start to see things unfold and maybe then we may see where the Ducatis line up.Think the top six may well end up still the top six but not necessarily in the day one order ,Lorenzo will be hard to beat.

I see JL DP & MM all posted there fastest times at the end of the day where as VR posted his about lunchtime.

Thats a good sign for VR as he didn't go chasing times at the end of the day. All about setup at the moment

Good start now fingers crossed for some cracking racing.

Just a note to the people saying that the top three are settled, Rossi is gonna be fourth etc etc. Look at the number of laps: the top three all set their quickest laps right at the end, possibly with softer tyres? Rossi and those immediately below him all had their fastest times in the middle of their sessions, NOT going for a one-lap blast.
So Rossi being half a second (or less) from the top really isn't a big deal and not indicative of any future placings, this being a test and all...

@sachsinmotogp.....you can absolutely compare Rossi and Stoner on the Ducati. Stoner handed a WINNING bike to Rossi who took the EXACT same bike and went two seconds per lap slower. Surely you cannot get clearer than that.

Keeping in mind vale has always felt comfortable being within 0.3 for a reason...racing on Sunday can easily account for that (per lap) over 25-30 laps.

If people still discount vale they are confusing the fastest total race time with fastest single lap time.
