he's only 2 tenths faster than his time on the Duc last year. Is he going to be able to shed another 1.2 seconds or so off that time so he's still up with the others?

a happy smiling rossi will be great for this years championship.going to be a tough season, but if marquez doesnt smash himself to bits it looks there could be four potential race winners which can only be a good thing for the spectators.

Anyone who has watched him since he was a kid and actually has got off their ass and raced a few things knew full well he was going to do this. I and many others before me have won championships even at that such old age of 39... Watch what he may well do..

Oh all you haters are going to be really unhappy this year.

And for you keyboard warriors - remember he has hardly ever lit up the leader lists in tests and frankly often in qualifying... He just does not need to.

Great start for #46. Must be a huge relief after the Ducati experience. To start as well as he did must be encouraging for the team and Yamaha but how Lorenzo & Pedrosa react will be interesting. If the 4 Ducati's continue to be seconds rather than tenths off the front runners, will they pull the plug on the MotoGP team? Roll on race day in Qatar!!

top 6 on a qual day wudnt b bad, as all the real gp ppl will know...Rossi often finishes a race in a far better position than he started...even on the ducati..where as Pedrosa can get pole ..or lorenzo or marquez by near enuff puttin there lives on the line will get pole an and find it hard to keep that position. also Rossi is prob the best on the grid at tyre preservation.. so all in all...the races are gonna b pretty awesome. i thk he knows this .
