If, and its a big if, Marquez was able to win a title against the current crop of riders he would have beaten more champions who held more championships than Ago, Rossi or any other. He's facing greater competition and a steeper learning curve than those before him.

Oh for sure Marc Marques is going to be good, and a race winner within the first few races. Cant say I like him though, but has that ruthless streak needed in a Champion...

Not realy suprised by marc m testing to date.
A great talent and this season is going to be a cracker.
I would not be suprised if he is champion by the end of the season.

2months ago i said i think mm could win the championship in nis first year because in 40yrs of watching the class ive never seen a rider who looses the front so much in a race but stays seemingly in control.. i know all the guys out there regurly save the front pushing the limit but this guy seems to have incorperated it into his riding style to stay right on or over the limit all the time .. i spose itl all come down to how the fronts work for him over race distance but if he stays on i think hes reinventing the art of being fast on a motorcycle.

Very impressive, especially compared to Bradl/Smith, Bradl beat him in moto2 and Marquez is already faster on the gp bike, and smith is nowhere just learning apparently, Marquez is at the front straight off. Gonna be a good season! I think he'll win some but I also think he'll do a lot of aerobatics, much like Lorenzo in 09!!!

Bradl is a good comparison for Marquez. Not becasue he beat him in Moto2, Marquez had to sit out after an incident that was really not his fault.

Both are on Factory Hondas. Bradl has a year with his team, the bike and tires and should be more comfortable and Marquez is clearly faster. Bradl is an excellent rider but not quite at the level of the first group and it is pretty clear marquez will be there.

I expected marquez to chase Rossi for 3rd, it may just wind up being the other way around...

Agreed Bill. But i think he is more than up to the task. How long it will take him to get his name on the trophy i am not sure. But i have no doubt at all that he will win it several times.

I am curious as to how hard Marquez was pushing. He is eventually going to have to find the limit and cross it to see "what happens".

Jorges biggest down fall was his crashing in 2008, which caused him to lose confidence. Hopefully, for the safety of Marquez and for racing, this doesn't happen to him.
