@Reality, fully agreed, Rossi tried every trick in the book and managed to "delovop" that Ducati straight into a hole, same bike that got 3 1sts, 2 2nds, 4 3rds and 4 pole positions in the 2010 season if you remember correctly.
Now poor Nicky and the gang are now trying to dig their way out and everyones wants to use him as a measurement of Rossi's amazing talent, it's going to be a struggle and I hope they come right before Audi decides to pull the plug on their MotoGP project.

test lap times don't really tell the full story, for Rossi its all about race pace and coming up from 3rd of 4th.. to be honest this all bodes quite well, who would bet against a close fight with Lorenzo

Well looky here. All of the Rossi glory hunters who have been hidden under a rock for the last two years are coming out of the woodwork puffing up their chests and dismissing other riders with flat out disrespect. Once the season truly begins a plague of armchair experts who are also psychics and mind readers, who think they have this season sussed out, will swoop down upon us like locusts making these comments sections downright unreadable.Gawd help us all!!!

I think many are getting cayrried away, testing isn't just a run to see who's fastest, its development and settings primarily , not to mention getting a feel for whats underneath you, I'm gonna go out on a limb....I reckon the comments on here are a 50/50 split...50% of you are clueless, you just enjoy bashing certain riders and making comments on things you know nothing about, you've most likely never ridden a high powered bike let alone raced one, then there's the 50% of intelligent ppl who enjoy the racing regardless of who wins or lap times, and have a true understanding, to those I applaud, you are true racing fans, to the others.... How about you get out there and try racing, even at a grass roots amateur level..it's soooo much harder than you can possibly comprehend.

Rossi was slower than stoner at most tracks in 2008 but he still picked up his 8th championship Rossi is faster than most people expected at this test let the racing begin..............

Soup reported that Spies would not test today because of his shoulder. I suspect his employers told him to get his butt back out there. His injury was serious and despite the doctors crowing on what a great job they did, I would not be surprised if he would quit before the season begins.

@ceckceck....My point was stated in the first sentence of my post.
The stats were just food for thought.
You can see that the Ducati was lapping quicker over the last couple of years but it wasn't enough.
I showed that Nicky hasn't yet got down to last years test time and Dovi is not too far from Nicky's time.
