Why dont the factory give the riders their old bikes to let them ride during winter break?

If i am Bautista, I would show up on a track day with my own RCV and ride.... No one can stop me coz im technically riding my personal bike... Is there any rule against that?

They would not stop him if he rides his own CBR1000rr, why not an RCV then?

Redbull gave Adrian Newey his personal f1 car which he drove at goodwood....

Alvaro is a good rider, but definitely not in the 'alien' class

It makes me wonder how good that Suzuki he was riding so well really was

Judging by the fact he is about the same distance from the top, makes me believe that the Suzuki was better than people gave it credit for being.. with an 'alien' on board, maybe that bike could have challenged for wins

Bautista had 1 pole, two 4th place and 2 podiums for his 1st season on a Honda, and he struggled big time to find a base set-up all season long(f'ing Showa).

He was nowhere close to this kind of results with a Suzuki. But it was a better bike than most people were thinking, Hamamatsu's headquarters included, sadly.

"Bautista & Bradl will beat MM & DP with the same bike"

Bautista I believe would give them a serious run for their money. Bradl? We'll see how close he can get to Dani and Marc this year. Even though I believe that is not a 100% up to date factory bike they gave him but if it is the bike Dani was riding at the end of the year it'd be at least 90%.

Why is honda going through the trouble of building customer bikes to fill the grid when Bautista's bike will be just as slow?

red&blue has got it right. Basically HRC are using Gresini and their bike to do extended development and testing of Showa suspension.
Guess who own Showa - yup, Honda.

You can bet Honda don't like that they have to run Ohlins to run up front, despite all their other tech, geeks and budgets.

Plus... any bets on what suspension any 'customer' RCV's that are made available will be running? A pound to a pile of sh!t they'll run Showa with Gresini obtained data.

Poor old AB is basically a Test Rider, who has to test in public on race weekends, and get slated for not being as fast as Bradl on Ohlins/factory supported bike!
