If the track is dry for the third day of the test, we will get a better picture of how close Rossi is. It is likely he will try to do a quick lap on a soft tire to gauge the gap. I think he'll get a little closer.

a clear example of an easily irritated and illogical fanatic to partially blame on only tools without balanced share of view points though the rider had said it publicly " I don't want to ride it in they way Casey did "(clearly didn't know what to say for being either afraid, unable,or else).before u jump up on me saying he didn't have anything to prove, why went take ducati challange?for development?-I bet you'd dodgily say YES and then NO.then what was he there with Ducati for?collecting point less than 200 per season.Ducati can't be going against their first brilliant idea of rossi recruitment for development only to ignore him, right?or for wins only to let him settle with midpack position, right?or long term development only to let him run tail b'tween legs without significant results, right?!yellow sun, please enlighten me!

Did you really read what I wrote?
I wrote:"...when the three top runners (Stoner,Pedrosa,Lorenzo) usually gave up after 3 laps on pushing each other.."
The emphasis is on the word "usually",but maybe I should have used "most of the time".Which means that sometimes we had the odd chance to see an "interesting" race from start to finish.

For what it's worth rossi did more laps in the 2:01 range than dani or Marc. Only mr consisting did more 2:01's yesterday. His fastest lap was a tad slower that Marquez but his pace was more consistent. I think any and all GP fans should know that VR is not trying to do 1 fast lap in testing. It's not the main goal and he has never been the best at going fast one lap. It's pace! Lets not forget he hasn't rode this bike in 2 yrs. I think the fact that he outpaced cal crutchlow says a lot. Cal is strong on the M1 and has been on it the last 2 yrs. Rossi never had any pressure from him. It's funny how all the haters are now saying "oh well he's 4th but he should be! ****! A month ago u all said he won't do ****! His PACE says otherwise. Look at all the laps. Not just the 1 fastest lap.he will be fighting for the podium guaranteed!

@r6ryder, we know that Rossi isn't going for just one fast lap, but then neither are the others. They are all going through the setups, it isnt something that only Rossi does. We have heard the same things from the Valenteenies the last two seasons that testing was just that and he wasn't worried about times

this half a second everyone complains about is a rossi thing, if you remember alot of times he has been 0.5 seconds off but come raceday that 0.5 is eliminated its always been this way. hes building confidence, i doubt he wants to get back on the YAM and bin it right away. After 2 years on the duke it prob killed his confidence.

We've been subjected to the half a second ramblings for two years now. Not once did he make good on the posters predictions.

It's very simple, he'll either win or he wont. Odds are in his favor he will since he has jumped back to Yamaha. Not a hard concept to grasp.

Some people on here are saying that if Rossi stays within half a second he will pull that out in the race like he has done in the past. The only problem with that is in the past when he done that , he was fighting against a Pedrosa who has never been fit and was not at the level he seems to be at now , also with beating Lorenzo , Lorenzo was new to the team and probably a little bit in awe of Rossi, however in his next season ,the season Rossi got hurt, Rossi was no match for him . And as for Stoner at Laguna Seca , yes he did qualify a half second back and we all know the result , but lets not forget how bad that Ducati was, sure Stoner could make it go fast but not for 25 laps without risk of crashing. So my point is it will be harder for Rossi to get half a second now than it was before.
