@ RSMick,

According to David Emmit Dorna subsidizes all of the teams. Check out the forum (not the main site, but the forum) and the discussion is under the Suzuki thread.

Please don't take offense if I take his workd over yours

I know David EMMETT, he makes some very silly statements, like saying do we really need so many energy drinks in Motogp? only to be told by Monster marketing director, would you sooner we take our money elsewhere? He said the same thing this morning when looking at the WSB Ducati.
I think you are confusing start money and subsidy, mr Emmett has a report on his web-site how he stopped subsidies to satellite teams at the end of 2012 and only subsidize CRT teams from there on in. If you class start money as subsidy then everyteam in Motogp,Moto2,Moto3 gets a subsidy, but they do mean something totally different. A bit like you get your wages then some people get tax credits who are low paid.

Translation. Honda will flood the grid with uncompetitive bikes that HONDA can control and dictate how (un)competitive they are, but at least they'll all have Honda on the tank, not A N Other, right?
They'll fool the gullible into believing that Honda are the saviours of MotoGP while actually securing their own interests very nicely by freezing out any potential competitors & ensuring that there is only the illusion of true competition and depth of field.
Hell, half of the fans are so busy arguing and screaming about which racer is best that they haven't a clue whats going on under their noses, so Honda can do what they want without anyone causing a fuss.

re: "Teams can still build their own bikes. They do NOT have to buy the Honda bikes."

correct, an individual or entity can do ALOT of things, but lets not confuse that for being a good idea.

re: Other Manufacturers can always come in and build a bike same as Honda for Euro 1 million....no one is stopping them."

correct, it's not a person. the thing that's stopping them is ECONOMICS. only big money honda can afford to engage in "zero sum games" and "free lunch". and even THEIR boffins are having difficulty just like i predicted. yet another check in the box for s1.

Imagine for a moment, that recent history had taken a slightly different turn....
in this reality, Valentino Rossi, desperate to get away from a recalcitrant Ducati signed for Gresini Honda.

Now... imagine if it were THE HERO and demi-god of the vast army of VERY, VERY partisan fans of the guy watching Rossi basically be on a Honda-limited, Honda-Showa suspended Gresini RCV - effectively forced into a test role to help develop Showa suspension for Honda like poor old Bautista's role effectively is now.

In short, fans'd go MENTAL that VR was inhibited from being competitive by HRC and there'd be an uproar of megaton nuclear magnitudes about it. But it's not VR is it? So no-one notices, no-one cares, and Honda can do what they like with MotoGP.

It reminds me of the 90's when Honda had the NSR500V which was sold to privateers, if it improves the gap between the CRT's and prototypes then go for it.
