Folks that are garbling on about Stoner fans or otherwise on these threads-he is gone!!!
He may come back and I hope he does but at the moment we are facing an asbsolute cracker of a season coming with lots of action no doubt to discuss so lets discuss that

Bayliss & Capirossi were also fast on the Duc, and developed it into a great bike with 20km/h more than the Japs. Then Stoner used their hard work to win a WC, then wrecked the bike and left Rossi to pick up the pieces. Stoner was probably 1 of the fastest guys ever, but NOWHERE near the greatest. That'd be the bloke with 9 WC's, and who's able to ignore all the BS that hurt CS's fragile little brain so much!

It has been horrible for a man of his calibre to have had such a rotten 2 years, so to have him back where he belongs is so good!! What a difference it is going to make to racing !

Not been on here in a while as it was just the same old being posted.

Come back after the first test and its the same, Rossi v Stoner...... boring, boring, boring. Stoner is not here anymore, give it a rest.

Move on, looking forward to the season, if test times are close on race days it should be good. Also there is a fear of with a .2-3 advantage that a rider may get will mean he clears off over a 26 lap race distance.

You couldn't have really expected much more from him. Well done Valentino.

Still a lot of work to do, but that must be a great feeling after the 2 years he's had.

He has a lot of respect for Lorenzo too. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing though when it comes to racing against him. We'll have to see.

The Honda boys looking pretty damn good too.

And please, stop saying welcome back Vale. Where was he for the last 2 years.

Was he retired, erm no.....

Hoping for a 4 way battle but think it will be between 2 come crunch time.

@ mike
Baylis and capirossi were quick on a trellis framed 990 with tyres which were manufactured to suit the bike, a completely different bike than the one used by stoner, Rossi, melandri, Hayden etc. It is an irrelevant comparison between trellis framed ducati's and what came after, stoner proved his ability by being able to win with the ducati on the carbon fibre bike but for most other riders its been a career wrecker. Hayden is stuck at ducati now and unless the Audi involvement brings things on quickly it will take a disaster or downpour to give ducati a chance of a podium.
