What the hell are you on mate??? Who beat who in what race I do not care! The most important thing is who beat the whole field in a season and more importantly in a career! All time and championships, not just race wins and a few years.

Rossi = 9 championships
Stoner = 2 championships

wtf are you on about? Stoner didn't invent power slides, the camera just focuses on him when he is doing on it and makes a big deal about it. There has been much better power sliders who have done far less, it's not an effective way to ride in Moto GP and never has been for Stoner as he always worn out his tyres faster than most.

sliding the rear of a bike can be a way to over come the shortcomings of a bike or tire-rear edge grip. Stoner's slides on the Ducati were probably an attempt to overcome the defeciencies in it's handling or inability with the control tire. It can also be beneficial to push the rear out stand up the bike sooner and gun it out of a corner faster than a more traditional cornering methods.

Every corner is different, every bike as well, there is not one best way to ride a bike, guys like Stoner were not limited to style, only what could be achieved by the bike and tire/setup. That is why Casey can ride the Ducati and guys like Melandri and Rossi had nightmares about riding it.

So Mr. Rossi, you openly admit to not giving it a 100% on the Ducati, you didn't even try to work around the deficiencies of the bike by adapting a different riding style, you sir are a one trick pony and not a true champion as a true champion would have found a way to put that bike on the podium several times, once you realised that you couldn't fix the bike in "80 sec's" you gave up, so give back all earnings for your tenure at Ducati and apologise to your fans.

All I know is, talk about consistency. Valentino from 2000-2010 was a BEAST! The lowest in the Championship he was 3rd. So tell Lorenzo, Moaner, whoever, they have alot of ridding and winning to do! I'm my opinion it's Mic & Val and nobody else.

All this talk of capirossi having the edge on his opponents mentally or "making them ride slower" doesn't work on lorenzo. He showed us this back in 2010 when he finished ahead of him 11 times to caps 3. lorenzo has only gotten better while capirossi is only going further down the age hill. caps times in testing were good, but can he last the whole race like that? did he even do a race sim in testing? Now that he's back with the japs I see a couple wins for him, but I'll bet my house and 2 cars he won't win a championship again.

xxx, how many of rossis championships came when stoner was in gp? 2. stoner had 2 as did lorenzo. how many championships did the riders from 00-05 have, namely biaggi gibernau, rossis main rivals at the time? NONE. simply has to do with the talent in gp at the time. back in those days there was no stoner/lorenzo/pedrosa to deal with. since the end of 05 rossi has only won 2 titles, if he is the "goat", why only 2? lets not forget the ducati fiasco, you can't deny for the first 6 races of '11 the bikes '10 and '11 bikes were identical. With all the support rossi had at ducati, why not even a single win and only 3 podiums? he had more support from ducati than stoner could have dreamed of and was just another hayden/melandri/espargaro/anyone else but stoner on it.

The thing I don't get about Stoner is given how good he was that while he won the the championship in 2011 he could not repeat it in 2012 and also why Dani bested him. In the only real test that season between the two Honda riders Dani kept him honest for the whole race to the point where Stoner committed an unforced error. And then further into this crashed out for pretty much the whole season on a bike that was supposed an easier bike to ride compared to the Duc and had won a WC on. While total wins is one definition I still maintain that defending a WC to be one of the greatest feats something Rossi has done twice (or 6 times depending on how you look at it) the latter against JLo Dani and Stoner.

"since the end of 05 rossi has only won 2 titles, if he is the "goat", why only 2?"

...Larry, not unreasonable logic, consistently applied to everyone else since 2005 and it dispells a lot of myths that get thrown around on this site.
