"I was quite sure that after two bad seasons I hadn't forgotten how to ride. But the way to ride the bike has changed very much" - Valentino Rossi.

@ 1001

It can be said that all WC winners were on the best bikes/teams (give or take maybe an anomaly here or there). None of the "Aliens" are going to win a WC without good two-wheeled machinery.

@Stavros

lol, what you do is a lame try to buy some credit for your already forgotten hero. Let me put it this way. Lests start with casey. 2001 joined Honda in 125cc zero win, zero podium. 2002 moved to 250cc Aprilia zero win zero podium. In 2003 he had to backtrack to 125cc and 1 win, 4 podium. in 2004 joined KTM 1 win, 6 podium. In 2005 he again 250 series at Aprilia 5 wins, 10 podium in total. While in 125/250cc, Casey raced against Dani pedrosa, Toni Ellias, manuel poggiali, Marco melandri, Randy de puniet, Andrea dovizioso, Alex de angelis, Jorge lorenzo and won no title. Rossi raced against the same riders and won multiple titles. So your argument is totally invalid. You're telling me that Biaggi, Gibernau,Melandri, Robert Jr, Capirossi, Barros, criville Ellias, Hayden, Lorenzo, Dani pedrosa, Dovizioso, Simoncelli and Casey himself were weak riders??? and you want me to believe that in all those years(specially 2004-2005) HRC didn't have whatever you said(tyre advantage...etc)

@ realist...... i mean fantasist

rossi will win 3 races at most.

lorenzos consistency will ensure he beats rossi in the final standings, thats a safe bet in my book.

sepang test, lorenzo did 15 (fifteen) 2.00.xxx laps out of 60.
and loads of LOW 2.01s

pedrosa put 3 in at 2.00.xxx and lots of 2.01.xxx

rossi did 4 2.00.xxx out of 60 with lots of 2.02.xxx yes 2.02.xxx
not many 2.01.xxx

rossi fans your pissing in the wind where jorge is concerned!

im not anti rossi......im a realist ho ho

@ sud and all the other haters if it was Rossi that was the fastest in the latest test you would be saying relax its only testing you fanboys. But if its someone else thats fastest you seem to forget your own logic, your all very predictable.what i dont get is why you guys try so hard to put down one of the greatest riders of all time, because its not working as much as you might try all your doing is making yourself look uninformed.

Well said!

@ sud

I'll take the bet that Rossi wins more than 3 races. Prepare to put up! You preach on about Lorenzo's consistency as if Rossi HASN'T been consistent his entire career (..until he landed on the Ducati). Rossi is one of, if not THE MOST consistent rider in the paddock. He's as metronomic as Lorenzo, but with an added degree of racecraft and guile. You can't claim that Lorenzo is consistent without acknowledging that Rossi is also.

@ Sam

Your entire post is a joke, and makes me wonder if you've watched GP race in your life.

1 The only decent bike Stoner had in the lower classes was the Aprilia in 05, which he was a contender for the title on.

2 Rossi never raced any of the other aliens in the lower classes. If he had they would have beaten him just like they have been been.

3 To lump the likes of Stoner and Jorge in with Biaggi and Gibernau is laughable. Biaggi and Gibernau were never able to beat Rossi consistently, where Jorge and particularly Stoner both have a superior record head to head to head against Rossi despite the deck being stacked in Rossi's favour in terms of machinery and experience for much of the time.

Will you guys ever tire of this back & forth? It's so old!

Dee does have a point though. If Rossi had topped the timesheets, those who don't care for him would have disregarded and/or minimalized the effort and claimed that "it was only practice". He's within spitting distance on his first go-round on the Yam in practice and people are claiming that he can't keep up. It's really ridiculous!

Some Rossi haters here forget one thing:

1. Rossi raced against Stoner (and Lorenzo) when he was already getting older and the two were getting better. That's a big disadvantage in the two wheels world and still he's beaten both of them before moving to Duc.

Rossi supporters (I am one as well by the way) forget one thing:

2. Yes, everyone say how metronomic and error free Lorenzi is forgetting that Rossi *was* indeed as metronomic as Lorenzo if not even better (just look at past stats of Rossi's golden years).
But it's not granted he'll be the same this year.
Sorry, but we can't ignore nature laws: 34 years in motoGP IS a (huge) handicap.
