"We just need to wait until I'm stronger, come back and twist the throttle, then see what needs to be changed" - Ben Spies.

People complain that Rossi shouldn't be brought into this conversation but let's be honest Ducati threw an enormous amount of money and resources to please him and to try to make the bike competitive for him and only him.

If the bike was less than a second behind Pedrosa and the 4 present riders were complementing the parts tested everyone would automatically be praising Rossi for his absolute development skills.

ALL parts produced during 2011-2012 for Rossi will have to be crushed because they're useless and he rightfully deserves to be held partly responsible for Ducati's failure.

So whenever a Ducati topic emerges expect the fingers to point at Rossi. He underperformed and got paid a LOT of money while doing it.

""Right now, the package we've got we need to refine and get the most out of it, before you start throwing a whole lot of parts at it - when you don't really know what direction to go. "-Spies

While all the other riders are calling for revolution over evolution, it sounds like Spies is in line & step with what management needs to hear.

You're on! By the end of the season, let's see if Spies is in 6th or 7th position. I'd wager that Hayden will be the highest Ducati in 7th or 8th (behind the top 4 riders, Bradl, and Crutchlow). *E-shake* Let's revisit this at the end of the season.

P.S. I'll even take it one step further. I will "predict" that Spies won't even podium on the Pramac during the first season. Hayden hasn't even been able to match Rossi's achievements on the pig, so I don't understand the logic in thinking that Spies - who just came off of two years on the marvelous Factory M1 and didn't rock the world (but I give him credit for a pretty good 2011 campaign) - is going to out-muster them. He'll be lucky to beat Iannone. Dovi and Hayden will be the two top Ducati riders.

Ok.. i'll say 6th by the end of the season,Spies will be top Ducati.
I've got to add Spies's M1 was anything but Marvelous last season...Even someone who doesnt like Ben has to admit the bikes Yamaha supplied were POS's.
Gotta have alittle fun on here lol

“Lets hope that the new riders can help Ducati get back to where they were before Rossi joined. Posted by Greg45 “
Err, “where they were before Rossi joined” was in the chit with an uncompetitive, unco-operative bike.

“If it doesn't work out Ben must return to WSBK where he will no doubt win races again. Posted by Tomcol”
If it doesn't work out Ben will be even more glum than at the end of 2012 and in that frame of mind would be ill-prepared for WSB. His best bet would be to go back to AMA, and not necessarily as a rider.

I don't wish bad luck upon him, I just don't see him being a MotoGP front-runner.

Anyone here thinking Spies will finish top six in the championship is delusional, he will be lucky to finish top ten. Hayden and Dovizioso will both finish infront of him, and they will barely themselves finish in the top ten. Don't mind Spies, but that's the way it's gonna roll. The Ducati's will beat by all the Honda's and Yamaha's. And that includes Smith. He isn't a lightning quick rider, but he is a solid steady performer, and that will serve him well since he is on a just simply on a much better bike than the Ducati folks, even if it isn't full factory spec.

Tony Elias has better results on a satellite Ducati than Rossi's monopoly of Ducati over 2 years. Hayden could battle Stoner when he came aboard in 2009. You guys have serious case of denial. Hayden would handed Rossi his **** if Ducati didnt invest so much time in energy in trying to appease the magician.

@ Prof X

So, when Rossi joined Ducati and was out performing Hayden BEFORE all of the changes, what was the excuse then? This isn't intended to be a crack at Hayden, but I really feel like your comments are designed solely to incite, and nothing more.

@ Rocket R1

Deal! :) It'll be interesting to converse with you at the end of the season when Spies comes in 10th. Hehe! You're right.....gotta have some fun on here.
