"We just need to wait until I'm stronger, come back and twist the throttle, then see what needs to be changed" - Ben Spies.

With the information that Honda also has a 90 degree 4 should
mean that there is no reason to expect sub-par performance from the bike. But Ducati has second tier rides at best so there is no way they are going to challenge for the lead. Best they can hope for is making a splash in performing above expectations but given the caliper of factory Yam and Honda riders, they are stymied for advancement. Spies has already had his shot and fallen way short. Likewise . Dovie has had his shot. Unless Ducati can assemble a killer bike (unlikely) I see them doing well to figure in the top 6 regularly.

what i don't understand is why the rossi haters is always blaming rossi for the failure in ducati.... even ducati didn't blame him

like louisalami said : Ducati threw an enormous amount of money and resources to please him. please...... this is moto & yamaha too threw enormous money for their rider & bike to be competitive.

ducati just don't have the resources & money like honda & yamaha. while rossi get the alumunium swing arm.... stoner & pedrosa already got new bike for next season. to solve the chatter problem, honda already threw new parts for the bike since the begining of the season.

ducati & rossi both failed to be competitive in 2011-2012. no one is to blame, they just try the hardest and failed

and rossi didn't wreck the bike...... that's just the haters opinion/judgement.... doesn't mean it's true......

in my opinion, rossi wreck the bike only because you haters hate him....

roman if you want to talk consistency, can rossi say after his rookie year, (excluding ducati) he hasn't finished a race outside the top 4 with the exception of getting hit, running off, then rejoining to finish 6th? lorenzo can. I get that he has had a longer career, but since 05 rossi has 2 titles, same as 99. if jlo finishes a race, its for sure a top 4 finish, (unless there is a collision) the same can't be said for rossi. he had good lap times in sepang, but being 2 years removed from yamaha certainly won't help him. lorenzo has 5 straight years on the bike to rossis 7. also 2012 has shown us that you can win the title and not have the most wins. Lets not get ahead of ourselves.. how about we talk about titles after rossis first WIN this season. (which I have no doubt will happen, just a matter of when)

re: "the package we've got we need to refine and get the most out of it, before you start throwing a whole lot of parts at it - when you don't really know what direction to go."

omg, even the racers have taken to quoting s1...!?

re: "if they ditch the aluminum chassis and back to carbon fiber then i'm with you"

if they ditch both the aluminum AND the carbon fiber and go back to TRELLIS then s1's... been 3 and 4 steps ahead of everybody all along. :)

zeroshift gearbox - check
90 V - check
full trellis - pending

re: "Ducati threw an enormous amount of money and resources to please him and to try to make the bike competitive for him and only him."

hmmmn, not thinking it was THAT enormous. when honda says they're going to deliver a frame...? they deliver a frame...! when yamaha says they are working on an engine...? the damn thing shows up...!

in 2012 when ducati promised something, rossi got... "well see what happened was". not to imply good or bad, but there were valid reasons.

@moto, 'ducati & rossi both failed to be competitive in 2011-2012. no one is to blame, they just try the hardest and failed '

Thats the whole point though. Rossi DID NOT try his hardest. He openly admits that.

If he did, then maybe, just maybe, he would have had a better chance of getting a little closer to what Stoner acheived.

Even if he couldnt match Stoner, he should have at least been able to beat Hayden by more than he did.

He tried in the last five races of last year and failed....Roman.

Lorenzo didnt push to win some of those races Roman because, quite simply,he didnt need to.He had the luxury of being able to back off during some races and settle for points. This showed great maturity in my opinion. Why push for a win and potentialy crash when you dont need to?
This is called race craft.Thinking of the big picture rather than quick glory. This is why he won the title last year.He has a level head on his shoulders.

lol lol lol, some fools say Ducati spent enormous ammount of money on Rossi!!! lol but they don't know how much is Ducati's budget compared to Honda and Yamaha. Ducati had only 32 million dollar to spend against Honda's billion dollar!! lol now they don't think about what Ducati failed to meet. electronics: failed, Engine: failed, newer chassis: failed. Although likes of crystal ball 99 are aware of the facts, they just want to slate Rossi. and for 2006, im my humble opinion Rossi is the champion not Nicky, you can ask Toni eliasand nicky.
