The entire point of Dorna making Suzuki join with an existing team is because a manufacturer can pick up and leave MotoGP whenever it feels like it. Much like Suzuki, Kawasaki, Aprillia and Proton all have done over the previous years.

A racing team is there for the sole purpose of racing, if the manufacturer backs out of the championship then the team is still left standing and can simply use another motorcycle and the grid positions do not drop.

Its the logical and correct way to run the championship. Bowing to the needs of the manufacturers got MotoGP in this mess and continuing down that path will only kill it completely.

How quickly they've forgotten tbe Doohan-era of 12 bikes on the grid. How do they spell boredom?
Is the current grid so huge that they are lacking space?
Ahh, but Dorna is a Spanish concern and look at Spain's current economic state. It all makes sense now!

It's all a big F##King joke.
The 4 stoke era was surposed to cut costs, 2 strokes were an enviromental nightmare, etc etc.
Just the mere fact that an oil change alone on a 4 stoke engine, far out weighs the bit of unburnt oil going into the atmosphere from a 2 stroke. And the cost involved in making a race winning 4 stroke, as opossed to a 2 stroke, do me a favour.
No, for me the sport was on a downhill slide the day 500cc 2 strokes were abolished.
But that's progress for you?

But it is Dorna that seems to change the rules every couple of years (at the behest of Honda?) so no wonder it is unaffordable and has a shrinking grid. 990cc is good. Wait, 800cc is safer, that was boring. Let's make 1000cc now. Wait in the future (2 years) we want to go back to 500cc.

Consistency will keep the Mfg's in the game - not the game playing rules and indecisiveness.

Dorma that's a joke. This isn't just another team wanting to take part, it another manufacturer! What are they supposed to do, buy a team and sack everyone to bring in the team that has been working on this bike for the last year plus! The more manufacturers the better, more bikes on the grid the better!
