"Already at this test I feel better with the bike. I just need some more kilometres to arrive at the very limit" – Valentino Rossi.

Today's times don't mean anything, the track was slippery, no one was pushing, Rossi was riding a different bike, and because of the rain they all had to stop early. Still, I get the impression the Hondas seem to be stronger than the Yamahas at the moment.

Damo46 even before Rossis injury, 99 was leading the standings in 2010. Rossi will have a great battle this year with Marquez Pedrosa and possibly crutch and Bradl for 2nd 3rd or 4th spot by the seasons end. I just can't see him consistently finishing top 2 like 99 will. Of the 4 factory riders, jlo will be placing the highest the most often which is why he will be winning back to back titles this year.

He's looking fit - and genuinely more relaxed than we've seen him for quite a long time.

Let's hope to see him enjoying himself on the top step of the podium this year!

Let's first remember the 2012 Factory Yamaha was a more developed bike than the 2012 Tech 3 Yam. Cal is saying that they have nothing new to test, so the real surprise is that Rossi is not further ahead of Cal. Having said that, Cal is fast and brave and will get faster. As for VR46, he is an expert tactician and I don't think he will show his full potential until the first race weekend. Only then will we really see how fast he can pedal that M1.
