Damo46 even before Rossis injury, 99 was leading the standings in 2010.

- 2010 Rossi came 1st in the first race dislocated shoulder before second came third and then second in the 3rd for a deficit of 9 pts to Lorenzo. Crashed broke leg in fourth, end of season. Lorenzo had his nemesis missing and Stoner was on the Duc which was going backwards. Voila WC. 2012 was in some way a repeat and he also was pretty lucky at that wet race to have it cancelled as he was at sea with that tyre choice. As we can see if all are fit we are for the first time in a long time looking at 4 possibly 5 way contest. So Johnson I will take that bet, Jorge won't do back to back, but if he does against this field (assuming they all stay fit) I will call him a better rider than Stoner.

As much as I like Cal and hope he does good, he's still a big step away from being a contender. No one is doing Valentino any favors by mouthing off when he is barely 0.2 in front of the Brit when he's further behind where it counts!

Why is everyone putting so much stock in a half days practice?? Of course Pedrosa is going to have the fast time, the bike is pretty much dialed and all he has to do is try for fast laps. Lorenzo is pretty much in the same boat. Everyone else is trying to get their setup to baseline. Fast laps come later for them.

Yawn same old school playground arguments from armchair fans who probably do not ride a bike. Testing is not racing and racing is the only place where it counts. Then we shall see.

Ok so your saying that Lorenzo's titles were gifted due to injury and Stoner/Rossi being on the Ducati????

Hmmmmm, well lets look at 2008 and 2009 shall we.....

2008, Lorenzo wasa rookie and injured. Stoner was on the Ducati. Voila. WC for Rossi.

2009. Lorenzo broke both ankles and colarbone, injured. Soner on Ducati. Voila. WC for Rossi.

See, if thats how you want to play it, then it works both ways.

@ Ausrossi 'Jorge won't do back to back, but if he does against this field (assuming they all stay fit) I will call him a better rider than Stoner. '

Ok, so would you call him a better rider than Rossi too?
