"We were able to improve the traction a bit, but we lost the good balance of the M1. So we paid a high price" – Valentino Rossi.

I said it earlier in the Sepang lap times post. The all out 1 lap pace is not worrying to most of these top guys especially Rossi who has not set the world on fire with fastest lap or qualifying. He is a racer. The worry is still Lorenzo's race pace (17 laps below 2 min 1 sec). Pedro did only 4 laps that quick. Rossi said it best in this article and reflects the true worry of the championship contenders ( 2 min 00, 00, 00, 00, 00 F**k!) bear in mind that these race pace laps were faster than all but Pedro's quickest lap (and some below MM's fastest as well...WOW!!)

Rossi 0.7 seconds slower than his teammate.... Ufffuu its just testing and no worries untill rossi remains happy and the best part is ever since his return vale never really overplayed the reality, either he reflected the truth or underplayed his positives, so happy vale dangerous vale,, don't get surprised if rossi brings the hammer down right on money on race day quatar,,

It's race pace and race tactics that Valentino excells in. It doesn't necessarily mean that the fastest in testing or even qualifying will automatically win a race. Valentino is doing what he is meant to - test! His speed will be there when he needs it and his racing skill will always put him in a good position.

The signs are ominous. Ben Spies understood these and was at the receiving end last season.

YAMAHA CAN ONLY MAKE ONE RELIABLE BIKE and for ONE RIDER ONLY

Rossi is already receiving untested and unreliable bike and equipment.

This won't bode well for Yamaha bike sales - unreliable bike even for the best known rider around the world

@Joeski, you've hit the nail on the head. Lorenzo has the 1 flying lap pace to get to the top but then is also able to string together half race distance setting laps faster than some of the guys can do once off.
Anybody who doesn't see him as championship favourite is blind. Problems or not, Rossi's off the pace. Tomorrow should be interesting

@Reason...

Yamaha had their worst bike sales when Rossi was there. Read some history and educate yourself.

Now the bright yellow 46 paraphernalia had the fans throwing their savings all over it.
