"This is the reality. The first three guys are very fast - Lorenzo and Pedrosa, but also Marquez - and it looks like we need to improve" - Valentino Rossi.

Its race day that counts and Rossi still has a lot of motivation and more than enough talent still to win races. No matter who you favour in this sport it looks like this year will have alot of excitment for every race.

Rossi has always seemed to shine when on his back foot.
He was quicker in the first test because he was trying harder to prove to himself that he still has the pace, one he knew he did he dialed it down a notch.

If he really does feel like he will need to give more than 100% this season we could be in for a very exiting year.

I think that for Vale fighting for 1 or 2 wins will be possible, but still a big challenge, especially if the top 3 keep going that tad faster.

Contending for the championship is a little bit too much.

Remember kiddies he was being beaten and put under massive pressure by JL to perform in Italy 2010, JL had the run on him and thats a fact, which may have contributed to him ending up properly hurt for the first time in his carrer.
Anyone who thinks it's going to be easier for Rossi 2 years later against the same guy that beat him up on a bike Rossi developed (which is now developed by that same rider) needs to take some medication!
Sandbagging? oh please, use your brain.
I don't believe he has it in him against JL Dani or even MM over a season, but I'm happy to be proven wrong.
