Preziosi was a talented and creative engineer. Most top teams have personell with broadly similar capabilities. They are all high achievers, but they can't all be top dog. Some designs have to be better than others, some not.
Preziosi must have been under extreme pressure for several years, not just the past two, in addition to his obvious personal handicaps. He has done well to persist despite the mountains of stress which must have been building upon him. I hope it hasn't taken too big a toll upon his capabilities and his health recovers to enable him to continue with his passions.
Those queuing up to kick a man when he's down should be asking themselves if they could have done better than Fillipo.

PLEASE stop saying that Honda and Yamaha have a gabillion more resources than Ducati. Ducati are NOT racing against Honda, they are racing against HRC which is a very small shop inside the Honda Company. Same with Yamaha. Just like Ducati, HRC and Factory Yam get a budget. Ducati pads that budget with Marlboro money. Honda uses Repsol $ and Yam, losing Rossi, also lost Fiat so they've been paying their own way.

The problem at Ducati is not $, it's pride, politics, and embarrassingly slow R&D.

do you get it? EMBARRASSINGLY SLOW !!!

One of Alex Briggs' first tweets at Ducati was the difference between the GP and the M1. He said on the Japanese bikes, you slide a bolt in and it goes in nice and smooth and kaboom the bikes are a joy to work on. The Ducati, every bolt would catch and you'd have to force it and it was just a PITA. I guess for both the mechanics and the rider!

I'm going to bore you with some pretty dull FACTS & half facts and something that's just a touch beyond rumour...apologies in advance.
I'm a Rossi fan, and equally a fan of a true genius called Preziosi..why blame one on another for Ducati's poor showing, they are both as righteous as one other, that's generally the case when two immensely talented individuals are supposed to be feeding off one another but have totally different ethos ...Rossi & Burgess et al, wanted everything but the kitchen sink thrown at every 'unsuitable chassis' that was built ( each were binned however 'slow' each were built ) when the front end immediately didn't appear to have even what they considered a 'partial fix' at their disposal...the lattice frame that Stoner muscled round each track didn't make it beyond the signing of Rossi's contract. Burgess needed & required something he understood, the Japanese 'type' twin spar...Ducati contracted out the building, and pretty much most of the design element, to a

Ducati contracted out the building, and pretty much most of the design element, to a well known British specialist but they held complete charge of the swingarm. Both are pretty much black arts and Burgess needed the Yamaha type...read between the lines and this was a project that needed 5yrs given both sides couldn't understand why the other was so damned indifferent. Bear in mind Yamaha & Honda etc would build frame after frame, month after month, within minute tolerances of one another...Rossi's & Ducati's requirements were vast great swathes apart from one another, and then when they thought the swingarm 'mating' would give the magic bullet, it upset the front end even more. Preziosi lost confidence despite his remarks to the contrary, Audi lost confidence in the fact they feared Rossi would give up the ghost...remember this is such a big deal given the great Italian 'dream' team' was now forged on a long Rossi association, way beyond his retirement...Preziosi has dedicated

Preziosi has dedicated his career to one team, and just because Rossi couldn't live with his ideology, designS doesn't mean he's any the less talent...people make out it's an entirely Stoner 'friendly' bike, yet he spent his only previous top level year appearing one minute like THE master and the next crashing his way round on the customer 990 Honda..he just got on it and rode the hell out of it...what was going to change with Ducati when you've such latent talent ? Would Rossi have mastered the '03 'Capirossi Ducati'...absolutely, a completely different beast to that 800cc bike he inherited upon his first tests with the team...and at that time he wouldn't care how long it took to get to his own perfect standard. The fact remains that Rossi just couldn't hang in there for another couple of years, despite Audi's continued promises that he'd get everything he wanted...

None of this is really fair to Preziosi, but he himself has fired enough talented 'former' Ducati engineers to understand perfectly that you have to 'conform' with whoever pays the bills. It's sad but I can't believe it's over...there's a genius now on the market, and you can bet it will be his own good self that calls the shots wherever he goes...much like Rossi did, therefore neither are to blame for this 'blip' in each of their careers...however long each may go on...

i dont understand this obsession on talcking on Rossi like if was is fault.. i think that Rossi time was just the limit for Ducati because Since 2007 Ducati go down and since 2003 to 2006 Ducati has talck about beeing im developments and on the final of 2006 they had a good year wish means that Ducati could finaly been on the same level has Japan they where closing the gap, then him 2007 they win and was like reaching the Top, Ducati finaly is considerer one dangerous team for the title but then it come 2008 and 2009 and 2010 and was worst sesson after another and this cause what?? Sponsers are not happy the top rider Stoner was not happy and the fault comes from the Project director that can t improve the bike.. after this preziosi should be allready fired because he was not doing is worck but insted Ducati again bealive on him and they thought maybe is rider problem and they have the briliant idea of sign Rossi that is the best rider on the rankings of Motogp, If Rossi s

, If Rossi say is good it will be good but if Rossi say is bad its obivius that is smethingh Worng with the bike i mean Rossi allready won titles on both Japonese Top Teams and he knows what he is talcking about because he Won more then he loss.. Preziosi on is upgrades was never able to improve the bike infact he argue with Rossi that he would find a better way of improve and fail they allways have the same problems.. after this is obvius that Ducati Team, on enginer department had lost the bealive of people and sponsors that thinghs can change i think that they dont even more problems because we are talcking about one European team that have a lot of tradicion on Motorcycle sport because if was one Team without a big name they would loss there credentials and sponsors.. Its like waching Willians Team on F1 since they fail to Win one Champion with BMW engines that was there best years with a lot of money and hope, they now face a lot of problems and sponsers ask if better days will
