MotoGP » 'You always learn' - Lorenzo looking inwards

"Last season Lorenzo was able to improve his style and now he rides half-and-half, between a pure 250cc style and the Honda acceleration 'trick' " - Valentino Rossi.

Lorenzo has matured into a very level headed racer over the years. He is not taking anything for granted and knows only too well the tough time he is going to have defending his title.
I dont think anyone is going to rattle him or break his concentration. He knows what he has to do and will keep his focus. It will be a close run championship this year if everyone stays injury free.

Get ready, fasten your seat belts to witness the following that will unfold this season...
1. Marc learning tough lessons with the book motogp and still be scarily fast and the best rookie.
2. JL and DP now in the prime time of their carrier with the best available bikes, taking forward their rivalry and intense duel for the title hunt which they left behind last season.
3. That old fox is still dangerous, forget the testing results, because he proved he is still there and not far from the front, importantly he is back on a competitive machine and might still possibly have a hidden trump card to pull of a big gamble on race day weekends and that's wat we call race craft, we all know what he is capable of if he has that pace and within catching range from the pole on races,, thats why he still seems to have a smile on his face

Good evaluation by Rossi of his teammate. And I'd agree that Lorenzo has matured and already had great talent entering into Motogp in a similar way as Marquez. Rossi will need to modify his riding technique to pick up the fractions of seconds needed to compete against JLo and Pedrosa. Should be an interesting season if the riders remain close.

Based on last years results and this years test I'd agree with Ed this year's title will likely be betweend Pedrosa and Jlo but Rossi and Marquez should make things interesting. Plus you never know what might happen in terms of injuries or just bad luck. Just ask Spies, he gets my 2012 sympathy vote for the dealings he had last year.

Vilas I think you're hitting some good points about all the electronic aids helping riders that can learn to trust them and allow them to explore the edges that normally you couldn't. Some riders, especially older ones have a difficulty in adapting as newer riders have been brought up with them making it easier for them to compete quicker at higher levels than before. It previously took 2 or more years for riders to be able to challenge at the top GP level. I believe all these electronic aids should be banned but the manufacturers are not allowing it at this point.

Valentino has always said exactly what he thought and has always been respectfull ! It is when a rider turns out to be a proper diva or a gobsh-te, or even both of those that his comments can seem a bit more scathing!! Valentino is a racer and he respects all other racers who give 100% , it is the ones that have pathetic "issues" that probably do his head in much the same as the rest of us!
