Dovi's comments are no different than Rossi's and he has benefited from Rossi's inputs. But as Ducati is so far behind they should have quit Motogp to concentrate on national championships and WSB. The problem is that as Ducati improves incrementaly so does Honda and Yamaha but a greater rate plus add the gap they already have and it makes the Duc look even worse. But I do hope them the best, maybe they'll be more competitive by the end of the season as they get more R&D done.

When the ducati won the championship it was not the best bike, nor did it have the best tyres,it was way faster than everything else in a straight line. Then the engine limits came, and the japanese got faster, with more reliable motors. The problem now would seem to be the handling,as only one guy managed to do anything on the ducati.

When Stoner won his Motogp championship on The Duc it was by far the best bike out there,

You could change the words Stoner to Rossi and The Duc to Honda or Yamaha and that opinion would still be True.
Stoners 07 Bike had the best Tires yes...Best Bike -deffinatly not.
Im more interested on how Close the Suzuki will be to Honda and Yamaha,if the New GSVR/GSXR1000 drops times as fast or faster then the GP13 Ducati better re think the entire bike

Except that when Rossi got on the M1 it had struggled to finish races and he won a championship on it in his first year.
JLo benefited from his development of that bike . And Dovi will do the same on the duck, but if you can only manage one race win on a factory Honda your never going to win a championship on a pig sorry ducati

@ jambop

Good points!

@ LC Tanner

Those of us who have really paid attention have been saying the same thing. Rossi wasn't really any slower on the Ducati than Stoner, but the other bikes just went faster.

I see my comments caused quite some keystrokes. For all the Stoner fans: I respect Stoner as a rider. I do not respect his attitude of moaning and hitting other riders. Concerning me saying that Pedrosa did not take 2011 because he was injured is not the case but on the contrary. The same goes for Stoner in 2012 though. He got beaten by Pedrosa like Pedrosa got beaten in 2011 by Stoner, injuries or not. But Pedrosa is 2:1 over Stoner as teammates if we add the 250cc days.

I am an all MotoGP riders fan for the ones that say I am a Rossi fan but that includes Rossi too doesn't it?
Drifting the bike does not make you a better MotoGP rider even if it looks spectacular sometimes. The essence is winning. You cannot compare Rossi with Stoner. Rossi has achieved much much more in MotoGP. If he could not win withthe 2011, 2012 Ducati it does not mean much does it especially when the bike was awful? You cannot nullify one's career and base it on his failures. Why don'tyou see Stoner's failures then?He was a crasher in 2006. One of the worst crashers but respect to him for putting his head down the next year with Ducati. He got beaten last year by Pedrosa because Pedrosa was a dynamite after settling down
with the problems he had with the additional weight.

I mean stop bashing Rossi or anyone else. Anyone can bash Stoner too. He failed much more times than Rossi did on other bikes than Ducati. Rossi failed on a Ducati. It means nothing! When I talked about Capirossi one ***** asked "where is Capirossi's championships".He had a lot of ammo in his disposal apart from luck you dummy. When he rode with Stoner he was already passed his prime and yes he is a much better bike developer than Stoner. Even Honda realized that with him.Bottom line: don't get fanatical about the one's you support and learn to appreciate each rider and his own abilities and in general learn to appreciate the sport called MotoGP.

There are so many factors in the rossi stoner debate, too many to count. it was rossis 1st year on ducati, stoner had 4 by 2010, but rossi was in gp twice as long as stoner, all the other bikes got better after 2007, but stoner was still able to get at least 3 wins and be a consistent podium/win threat every season on it unlike rossi.... bla blaa lets just appreciate the fact that from 2001-2005 (and even 08-09) it was rossis time, but overall, the 800cc era was stoners time, now its looking to be jlo's time and after that it will be marquez' time... no one is the best forever it cannot and will not happen.
