I thought I read somewhere that Stephan was to receive a factory bike in '13, even though he is on a satellite team. This would explain his being there. Anyone else hear this?

There are Good Riders
& Great Riders.
Then we have Truly Exceptional Riders.
I believe Marquez is one of them.

By half-way point in the season he Will be fighting for
Top Spot on the Podium.
Right or Wrong, It's going to be one Helluva Season!
Bring It On.........

@Grendlehop : yes i heard it too. That Bradl this year get a factory support, but i forgot where, maybe in article in, crash or maybe other sites....

@dave : relax... rossi often shows his true self at the race, no matter where he start from.... 1,2,3... or even 7,10, 14. Hope he still have it.... rossi on a yam is still dangerous no matter where he start....

Are you guys are aware of the fact that these times are non official. They might be real or reflect reality some how. But they are not official. Thus it can be bluff either side.
Is that so difficult to understand?

@ Bip Bip Run

These teams spend HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO GET THESE BIKES AND RIDERS AND CREW TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD! There is NO point in them running round at half pace and "sandbagging" as so many people so often suggest... They test so they can make the bikes perform better at pace, not Sunday breakfast run pace.

That all said, IF Rossi was just spending the day, doing more laps than anyone else, JUST to learn the track and be comfortable on it, FAIR GAME, but we'll only see by the end of the test.

Actually I don't find Marquez's difference in time as a difference in capability. The old chaps are deep in the game, know the unwritten rules, the balances, they are playing it safely. It's just a test. The young hot shot wants to impress (and learn), he's like an aggressive puppy that wants to show everybody that it's got teeth. Come raceday it'll be another story though.
