Matthew Birt tweeted that Rossi and Lorenzo were in the pits discussing tire wear and edge grip. He mentioned how rare a sight it was to see them working together.

Not a surprise. Last year's champion is Lorenzo, so this year's tyres are made to suit Hondas. MotoGP must be kept dramatic (and 'balanced') enough to retain its popularity. Also Rossi's return to Yamaha was realized only because of Dorna's intervention.

The only 5-6 bike battles that we will see in GP will be between the CRT's if we're lucky. The front is looking no different than last year with 3 guys setting the pace and swapping wins on the days or tracks that they are dominant on.

The more things change the more they stay the same...
