"Step by step we improved a lot from yesterday but have some disadvantage compared to the other guys so we need to put all the sections together" - Valentino Rossi

Well Honda have been faster than Yamaha all test and we all know Lorenzo is faster than Ped on an equal bike so Rossi being slower than Marc on a Yamaha isn't worrying.

What is worrying though is Rossi is way slower than Lorenzo, that never used to be the case. I think Ducati has worn rossi out, he's too old and Lorenzo has gotten better and rossi hasn't...

It's a shame but I don't predict a good year for Rossi.

@ miffy

Here are the final times:

1) Marc Marquez (Honda) 2'03 .853
2) Dani Pedrosa (Honda) 2'03 .976
3) Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha) 2'04 .351
4) Stefan Bradl (Honda) 2'04 .640
5) Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) 2'04 .960

Rossi, Bradl and Lorenzo are nearly indiscernible, and are within spitting distance of the leading Honda's. What are you talking about?

In 2013 there is one thing you can be sure of on this site. The fans of an absent rider will be hovering over their keyboards to stick the knife in as soon as they possibly can with regards to VR.

Don't matter.

Go #46!

To miffy. Its only testing. if you was to spend a day watching some of rossi's race's. Then you would'nt be making silly comments like that. We all know rossi' strongest point on race day? As it should be anyway . Starting 5th or 6ht.. late braking . coming inside of another rider..All that can stop rossi winning race's this year will be saftey rules The judges who obviously don.t race bike's. like he did.nt have his indicator on. Or would you mind me passing you please. Dani. And sorry for getting to close JLO...ohhhh that was dangerous on the last lap. You know the way MOTOGP has gone .But you better beleive it miffy vale will be there and you know it...

Just for juxtaposition....

Look at the times from the other riders at the test:

Young - 2'13.641
Barnes - 2'13.993

I hope the Ducati's lap faster than that.

P.S. Rossi did 67 laps and Lorenzo did 65 laps. Bradl only did 49. Good showing from him!

Did anyone else notice the title change to this story?

Earlier this morning it was something like "Rossi reaps rewards for Austin testing" now it has misteriously changed to "Rossi chasing"????

Crash...up to old tricks hey?, not enough "debate" happening?

Anyway, the fact that its a totally new track for all means the times in them selves are not indicative as all these guys improved by 10's of seconds from the first outing. So with 100+ laps under their belts, none of them (as they have stated) have worked the track out yet for outright pace.

Riding fast and racing are two different things. It's harder to go fast when someone gets in your way or steals your best lines on the track.

The Yamahas will do better in the race because this track does have plenty of overtaking opportunities. Tracks that are more flowing will tend to create separation among the racers.

Plus, young Mark might thrown the bike down because of his aggressiveness.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Yamahas finish one-two in the race.
