Here's one for you...... lets guess that Honda using their vast development wallet muscles find that they can eke a 5% better overall performance over the life of an engine. So, the new 5-engine limit (laughably and so obviously NOT a cost-saving tool) means that even Yamaha have to turn down the wick to eke out their motors to the end of season Flag.

So, DP and MM can romp away with impunity at the last couple of races, while Vale and JL can do nothing about it as they have to preserve their motors.

This scenario is VERY possible. And if it happens it'll ruin any pretence of Racing & wreck MGP (but Honda will be very happy anyway). Maybe then (with a n Army of incensed VR fans going bok) there might be a few more fans persuaded to look a bit deeper at what's going on, and how MGP is a shadow of what it should be.

@ Realist (with my above scenario actually playing out...) Wouldn't it be ironic if after Carmelo went to all that effort to get Vale onto a competitive , that it turned out that VR actually WASN'T on a competitive bike (over the season that is)?

Dorna believe that a front-running and competitive Rossi is very good for business, keeping fans tuning in, and by definition exposure and revenue for MGP.
After all thats gone on - if this backfired as Dorna have allowed Honda to influence the rules and the 5-engine nonsense DOES make Yamaha Factory uncompetitive, in 1 stroke alienating a huge fanbase and negative publicity, with ensuing loss of sponsors and problems...

Would I be only one thinking that its damned funny, and Karma? Maybe MotoGP will end up being a one-make series after all eh -as only Honda will want to be in MGP as they run it anyway?

Never mind - Dorna can get Rossi to defect to WSBK, and milk him for a few more years there instead, so that'll be all right then.
