Kudos to Crutchlow!

Unfortunately once racing starts his bike won't the updates the factory bikes do so by the second round he'll be at a disadvantage.

I wouldn't say a lot of dry track time, damp yes dry just the last 1 or so of today, times didn't stop dropping until the last 45 min or so(they all set their fastest times in the last 30). Lorenzo said yesterday that they didn't get to test the chasis the first 2 days and you can't get a lot of data from 45 min of dry running at 5 in the afternoon. Oh and that race track record is from the 800's era, they haven't had a completely dried race since then I think.

Couple of questions, 1st why is Edwards still on a bike in MotoGP, what a disgrace but I guess it's still a paycheck and it's better than sitting on riding camp in texas. Second why isn't Depunit (sp?) on the Tech 3 team instead of Smith. That kid while a nice guy should be on a CRT or back in Moto2. Nice job by Cal but the top guys didn't really try anything on Day3.

Probably the most underrated rider on the MotoGP grid. I even thought he was a waste of time when after his first and last season on the WSBK Yamaha R1 he only achieved 3 wins and then getting the MotoGP ride. Crutchlow already started to impress me last year and now this result today! Wow! Great guy and I'm looking forward to seeing him battle for the top step. I truly hope that Yamaha give him "factory" support. He definitely deserves it :)

@Lad
The 800's are not faster than the 1000's at most tracks. Several records fell last year to the 1000's and many were spared because of wet weather. The main reason being that the 1000's retained many of the characteristics of the 800's just with added HP. Another reasons why other records may not fall is that those were set with qualifying tyres back in 07,08. There are also other tracks like Sach, Valencia and even Laguna where the bikes are not ridden at their full potential because the tracks are too small. Mark my words, other records will fall this season if weather permits.
