Seems like Rossi is gonna wait for King Lorenzo to evaluate the new chassis so then he can use it. He's opting for the proven one instead.

Lorenzo is putting long race simulations including in the rain while Rossi is sitting around.

There is no doubt that Furusawa and Rossi worked together to achieve what they did. Furusawa himself admitted that, and even Nakamoto at Honda HRC stated that Rossi was very instrumental in developing their RCV211V. That been said, there is no doubt either that Lorenzo has been assisting in developing the Yamaha in Rossi's absence. Give credit to all 3 of them, Furusawa, Rossi and Lorenzo, because all 3 are brilliant at what they do :)

Its such an interesting dynamic this year from a Yamaha perspective. Jorge is the most consistent, the number 1 rider and the favorite for the championship. Valentino however has a point to prove. I don't think he can match JL for race pace, but he'll rattle his cage and try and put him off. (i.e. Laguna 08 with Casey).

Vale wasn't necessarily the fastest out there all the time, but he could always stay in touch using the Yamaha and could put people off. That's why loads of people love him, and why loads of people hate him.

Question is whether or not he can stay in touch at all. There's not much you can do when you're 5 seconds down the road and JL and DP are miles ahead and some petulant teenager and a cocky manc are trying to start a fight with you. The arrogance of them two. Jeeez!!

He was behind Lorenzo by when he broke his leg. Lorenzo has grown leaps and bounds since then and got way faster, more consistent and calmer. Rossi was afraid of Lorenzo's ability to not let Rossi in his head and bite back hard. I can only think Lorenzo has grown mentally stronger and wiser.

Rossi is going to have his hands full with Marquez. Lorenzo is going to have his hands full with Pedrosa.

Valentino will be a serious force this year! Back on his Yamaha, full of confidence again and raring to get back into the swing of real racing up at the front!! A competative Valentino is a dangerous man - how fab!!

give it a rest

lorenzo was up by 7-8 points on Vale when he broke his leg. it was also the 4th (?) race of the year.

in 06, vale was 50+ points behind hayden at the halfway point and clawed back to +8 over hayden by Valencia.

no way he was worried about 8 points in the first quarter of teh season.

the REALITY is that Barbera, like usual, was following vale so vale slowed to let barbera pass, the tire cooled, he yanked the throttle and snap goes the twig.

but don't let FACTS get in the way of your fantasy.

Forza Vale

Don't worry guys by the end of this season, rossi will be fully acclimated to the ducati and ready to challenge for the title in 2014. He's got the same mindset as he had when he started with ducati: 1 year to (re)learn 1 year to win!!
