'I'd have preferred to have done a few more dry laps in testing but I am confident and optimistic that I can start the season with a strong result' - Bradley Smith

He kept it rubber side down and every time people were going all out for a fast lap he seemed to stay in the pits, minding his own business and not concerned at all about his time getting pushed down the order. I think come race day he will be much better than his winter test times seem to show.

The other Yamaha's 1-2-3 & on the same pace, Smith in 13th & 1.6sec down, behind all GP & 1 CRT.
He should NEVER have got this ride. There are probably 30 more deserving riders out there.

Out of Depth,

Please try and absorb all the evidence before you make yourself look out of your depth. Smith has approached the testing in a very sensible manner. Learning, adapting, analysing, and keep it out of the gravel. As J C Racing stated he was not chasing fast times, rather understanding how the bike works and how it needs to be ridden. I look forward to seeing how this all rolls out by mid-season. Until then all the naysayers are wasting their breath.

#99 5th year 46 who knows how many years and it's Cal's 3rd season, while it's only been 11 days on a Yam for #38 and 5 of those have been wet.

Think people!

Expectancy

Regardless of future and past reasons ref Mr Smiths performance & excuses , Can we all agree:

The order of expectation given a place or two should be
2 x Hondas (factory)
2 x Yamaha (factory)
1x Yamaha (tech 3)
1x Honda (satellite)
1x Yamaha (tech3)
1x Honda

That's the first 8 places followed by a stream of Ducatis & CRT,s

Whilst it is unlikely that Mr Smith will get to sit in the top 4 (probably top 5 inc Cal) is it not reasonable to expect to see this Semi Factory Yamaha in front of the Ducatis at all times wet or dry

Therefore who would agree that if the top 5 places are taken and Ducatis start to fall in to places 8 an below allowing for any offs in the top 8 which can only promote positions it would be an embarrassment to bring the bike home in anything less than 8th

As Mr Nakamoto (HRC) recently said “fast riders are fast from the start” (look at Marquez) the tools are there the circuits are know these are all advantages .

Seems to me you will only nee

Seems to me you will only need to cruise around on that bike to finish 8th it's a no brainer anything less would be questionable.

Your thoughts guys?

Where Bradley finished overall will be where he consistently finishes. He is in way over his head. You could say he had inferior bikes last year compared to Marquez but this year he is on a good bike and so is Marquez....guess what, Smith is not that talented. There are others who were more deserving of that ride.
