'I'm surprised and pleased at the same time, as this helps us to realise that we're not so far from the others when we have a fresh tyre' - Andrea Dovizioso

He is closer to the leader, but this is also the first time Cal has been the leader. How far off Cal's times has he been at other tests.

And there is no way that "dampness" in the track made a diff, it was a sunny day in Spain, it dried pretty fast.

The track was dry by the time these times were set, bar the odd damp do you think Crutchlow as able to set the fastest time of the whole test otherwise?

8 tenths from the front isn't really something to sing and dance about if you're on a factory bike.

Dovi's done well to finish above Hayden, but I'm still not that optimistic for Ducati's chances, unfortunately

The Ducati Team has used Jerez for many tests. In fact they were there in November with and a couple more times with the test team this year. (14 days or so of track time) So that bike should be fairly dialed in for that track and for the riders...

Db8 they were 2secs at the first test so I'd properly crack a smile as well. Either way he's already beating hayden which rossi struggled to do. Lets face it all the downbeat comments are from Rossi fans. How about well it looks good lets wait and see

All you guys babbling about times set, he said it best " on new tires" he still doesn't know how the bike will behave on used tires. And looking back he could be .02 from the leaders, if those tires don't last for more then 3 or 4 laps he and all the Ducati riders will be going down the order come race day, which in my point of view is an damn shame for the fan and the sport. Cause I'm sure everybody wants more bikes at the front battleling it out week in and week out.
