This year there is great potential for Yamaha's and Honda's second riders to fight with, or beat, their Number 1 riders. Fighting will slow them down and give an advantage to another team. Beating the number one would result in taking points away from them and maybe compromising a title challenge.
It makes me wonder if team orders will play a part this year ? And who would be the first to disobey them ?

if counting every win will get the title then stoner would have 2 or more title than rossi as you are saying.

stoner is "win it or bin it", that's why he has more win and less 2nd and a lot of DNF and lower than 2nd. look at jlo, lots of 1st and 2nd in the span of 3yrs.

1st - 23
2nd - 7

1st - 21
2nd - 15

1st - 14
2nd - 13

in this game consistency is a key.

manufacturer/people wont recognized you as a great rider by just beating a great rider. you have to win a title to be recognized.

hayden win his title by consistency and also jlo.

both pedro and stoner don't have enough mentality to stay on form on a race day. of course stoner is above than dani.

I reckon it'll be Pedrosa vs Lorenzo for the win. I'll go Pedrosa to win, Lorenzo right behind and then a bit of a gap to Rossi. Marquez is quick as but not altogether certain he'll master the race quite yet. Reckon he'll rub shoulders with all of the above but will probably end up in 4th.
