If the CRT are so bloody terrible why can Espagaro get withing 1.3 of a factory Honda with a bike thats 20kph slower in a straight line on a track where good top speed is important. What the CRT lack above all else is pure horsepower, but the handling of the ART and FTR Kawasaki are very good. Especially Espagaro has been very complimentary of the way his bikes handles. So far ART and Espagaro have done a GREAT job to get as close as they have on a bike that is almost just a tenth of the cost of leasing a satellite prototype. In other words why spend in the regions of 4 mil to be half competitive, when you can spend 0.5 of a mil and be more or less the same.

....because you're not being reasonable. Is a CRT bike "really" only 1.3 back from Bradl? The obvious answer is "No, they are much further back than that". Bradl is just not riding optimally. You can't use an off day for an alien as a means of qualifying a CRT bike's improvement. They are nowhere near that close.

I think you'll find that Espagaro isn't 1.3 from Pedrosa.
And i'm being perfectly reasonable, it's obvious to anyone that is paying attention that the CRT are cutting a much better figure than they were last year. Or do you think Bradl and Smith weren't trying to stay in the top 10 ? Would you have predicted a CRT getting within 0.4 of making the top 10 ? I didn't and i bet you didn't either....

My bad. I meant Bradl. Replying to too many damn posts on this website. In either case, no, I don't think the CRT's have covered that much ground. Bradl just isn't riding up the speed. The rider/bike combination and the bike's ability is far better than what the FP times would suggest (just like Pedrosa's current placement on the grid).

@ Realist:

You might have had a point if the CRT's were all lapping slower this year, while in fact they are managing to lap faster on a track with ridiculously dusty and obviously a lot worse conditions than last year. Remind me again how far away the CRT's are later on in the season when they punt a prototype bike or 2 out of the top 10 for Q2
