Here we go, excuse time again! I thought at the very least we would all have to wait until Monday morning... Hell guys, most of us had to listen to all this for two years while he was develloping the Ducati. He will get creamed by these young guns... the past is the past and, sadly... it has passed him by...

It doesn't surprise me that the hecklers are out in droves when there is even the slightest hint (unjustified, but still) of a problem. They were quiet when he was pacing ahead of everybody in the FP's (except for the final fast laps), but they are very vocal today. They won't be vocal come Sunday!

Ok, so Rossi's best lap was blown and he had to rely on what should have been his 2nd best lap. That put him 7th and on the 3rd row. What would have happened if Lorenzo's best lap had been blown? His 2nd best lap was still good enough for 2nd behind Crutchlow. And if *that* lap had been blown he still would have been 4th. And if *that* lap had been blown he still would have been 4th. Fifteen minutes only provides enough time for 4 fast laps, and Lorenzo's *worst* lap of those 4 would have still put him just one spot off the front row. That's the kind of consistency that nobody else on this grid has right now.

I wonder how people take the results of a session and say bad things about riders that are trying hard.
how a rider is doing can not be judged by the result of 1 session, but many races!
anyone can have a bad session anytime!

Because there is less time to qualify, 2-4 flying laps, it doesn't matter that there are only 12 bikes on the track. All riders basically have to get on the track at the same time in order to have a shot at the maximum number of laps, which in this case is, again, 4.

Qualifying has been compressed into fifteen minutes. Do the math. Traffic is even more of an issue than it was before, even with, yes, only 12 bikes competing for pole. Lorenzo had the right idea. He was on the track first, therefore the largest gap on the track belonged to him.

Why do you think Marquez followed Pedrosa? Because he knew that at the very least, he could have a decent gap behind his teammate who happens to also be on one of the fastest bikes on the track. It didn't work, but Marquez was right to try. There were at least four other riders in the same pack as Pedrosa and Marquez. It's very likely that Rossi encountered a similar situation.

Anyway, expect more riders to compete to be the first on

Judging by what I've seen this weekend, I've no idea what order the top 4 will finish but I predict MM will let the red mist take over and he'll either run on at turn one or skittle someone, Dovi will start well and either go backwards or get flicked off by lap 15 as the tryes go off (by his own admisdion they have not done a race sim). What ever happens, its going to be a great race.

Anyway, expect more riders to compete to be the first on the track come QP2 at COTA. No one will try to wait it out for a gap to form anymore. Lorenzo will have a lot competition trying to own the QP2 lap come Austin.
