It must be galling for Rossi to see a Ducati in front of him on the grid.

There's an old saying that the best make the best out of a difficult situation. I think that it applies to Jorge in this situation. Every lap he did was fast and precise.

In this new format you can't peg your hopes on one last fast lap. You have to do every lap like that.

The new qually rules make exciting viewing but the time limitations make an ideal lap elusive. OR maybe that is the purpose of the rule- to heighten the pressure, the rush, the risks, to provoke mistakes and mix up the contenders, to give an element of uncertainty.
It is good that the slower bikes get good exposure for their Sponsors in Q 1.
But a 15 minute limit for Q2 is not going to be enough on longer tracks, or those with a long approach to the pits.
A little refinement and some flexibility to the timings is needed to fine-tune the spectacle.
BTW- imagine if Dani and Marc had taken each other out and each had broken bones. I'm sure Honda will have already examined that scenario.

Actually I just looked at Quali again and you can see Rossi let Dani and Marquez through. So he slowed to give him space started his run and they Dani and Marc had their coming together putting the kibosh on his hot lap. Yes I think Rossi will learn from this. The rest of quali shows that this is not his normal pace. Sucks to be seventh but I think he will be aiming to get passed Dovi as a minimum. His ego could work for him here nothing like looking foolish to spur one on.

Everybody on here is acting as if the race was won tonight, so why even bother to race tomorrow. Yes it was a bit suprising to see him in 7th position after see him lead the practice. But in case you guys have forgotten, Rossi an Lorenzo were the only 2 riders to have a similar race pace. Let the racing begin, my guess is that alot of the pople in this forum will have a different topic to discuss tomorrow.
