MotoGP » Qatar MotoGP: Lorenzo daunting in the dark

"Pedrosa didn't want to let me get away, he tried to stay with me but after six or seven laps I opened the gap" - Jorge Lorenzo.

I think Lorenzo is a known quantity. For me the most daunting was someone who I've never really taken to - M Marquez - but if he keeps it clean, with a performance like tonight he is daunting for the other riders. Marquez as a rookie on his first ride to out do his team mate and mix it with Rossi - that for me was the biggest thing about tonight's race.

Hope it continues, (no disrespect to Dani).

No IFs or BUTs about it: Lorenzo was the master today. Still early days but he seems capable of doing a perfect first half of the season and then "relax" to just finish in the podium just like last season. Hopefully, the competition may be fiercer this year for the whole of the season.

Nonsense!
True fans recognize Lorenzo's incredible talent. He has proven himself time and again. Rossi and Marquez, if they are to challenge Jorge this year, will need to demonstrate incredible talent and commitment to the sport. VR and MM are at different ends of their careers but if they rise to the challenge, we may see a championship battle that supersedes any that has occurred in the past.
