Second place is already epic, but started from seventh then from 4th dropped to 7th and ended 2nd some 6 seconds behind Jorge, this is the spirit of racing. No ifs and but, Jorge is the deserving winner but rossi (old goat) is the knight in shining armour.

As expected from Lorenzo. Criticise Rossi as much as you like but he made the race interesting by actually overtaking several riders. Excellent.
Crutchlow on pretty much equal terms with the works Yamamhas still needs to learn how to overtake.

I don't really understand why people are (Haha) are saying people are forgetting JL performance? They are talking about Rossi as it is the fairytale comeback in most respects. Yammy, 1 and 2, perfect display by JL and a classic Rossi battle to gain second.
JL is a phenomenal rider and hard to beat, if he hadn't of got the perfect start today, I would bet on him winning anyway. His "never give up" is also legendary. The times JL has not given up and pushed in races to finally get past the leader after 15 hard laps of chasing are memorable.
I think people are talking about Rossi as it was a memorable performance, people are generally relieved that MotoGP is exciting again. JL, Rossi, MM, Dani and hopefully Cal all fighting we are in for a cracker. All we need is Dovi on that bloody Ducati to get in the mix too.
I am primarily a race fan, I do like Rossi and have maximum respect for every rider who is prepared to push to the limits for our entertainment.

@James,

It was a great race and most people would have been tingling with excitement those last 4 laps (except you of course, so boring but you still kept watching?).

Also, pedro handed moaner his ass last year, so if pedro finished 4th, id say moaner would have finished 5th.

JLO deserved the win but to say it was decided from the start because a guy whos not racing anymore wasnt there is the most intelligent thing a moaner fan could say really....no, really, there is nothing left in the rossi hating handbag of statements.

Hes back baby and hes gonna have a ball racing, having fun, accumulating points and who knows, maybe even a WC.

Whats your guy doing? Thats right, dont know because to the media (and pretty much everyone else) he doesnt exist anymore. Havent you heard, rossi came second....

Jorge was insanely fast last night in those first 7 or 8 laps. He just blitzed the field and didn't put a wheel wrong doing it.

The most telling thing was later on in the race where he went into Sunday afternoon snooze-cruise mode and was still matching the pace of his distant pursuers who were having to jump on and off the bikes like gymnastic orangutans to do the same times.

No one has ever made going so fast on a motorbike look so easy as Jorge Lorenzo. He is a legend.

The thing with Lorenzo yesterday is that he slowed down once he'd built a 5-6sec gap, otherwise he'd have won by a larger margin. And even so, he was 4sec faster than last year. I hope Honda has an answer for him at Austin, or otherwise he'll have it too easy this year.

Rossi was excellent. Yamaha once again has a superb team.
