“After the way I had been performing in practice and qualifying, finishing fifth is a little bit frustrating” – Cal Crutchlow.

Cal has said himself that Jorge would still be winning even if he was on the Tech 3 bike. Why? Caus he is that damn good. He, Rossi and Pedrosa have that extra something over race distance that has made them champions. Top speed doesnt come into it unless we are talking 2007 Ducati kind of difference.

@ drwho

Crutchlow is funny (in a "shut up idiot" kind of way). It has been the same ol' pandering for the last few years. His mouth and inconsistency is why he won't have a full-factory ride anytime soon. He sounds so bitter.

Lex with the top speeds. A race cannot be explained by a simple unidimentional index.

I will race you down the Losail straight. You can even have a top speed a little higher than mine, as long as you get to yours as you have to start breaking while I get to mine at half the length of the straight.

@ nickfox

One only has to look at the 2012 season to understand Crutchlow's issue.

@ pp916 and Codpiece

Rossi is on last year's chassis too, so what's the excuse? Rossi and Lorenzo tested the new chassis, and while I'm not sure about Lorenzo, Rossi decided to use the 2012 chassis and will switch to the new one mid-season after he has more time to test it. The difference between Lorenzo and Crutchlow is skill!!!

@ Rocket R1 and Yes Yes Yes

I agree that it's clearly a set-up issue as his bike can clearly run the pace.

Realist....

Yes Rossi is on the chassis from the END of last year, Crutchlow is on the chassis from the BEGINNING of last year......think you'll find that taking into account interim chassis Tech 3 are 3 steps behind, at least that's what the guy running the team is saying, but maybe you know something that he doesn't?
I also think you'll find that Cal concurs with your assessment of Lorenzo's ability.

Interesting thing here is that Crutchlow is getting all this stick for daring to be amongst the factory bikes yet Bradl, on a factory supported Honda, was very disappointing and ended up on the deck....is he not worthy of abuse also? After all he did have the temerity to get in Rossi's way for a number of laps......

You know what guys, half of you talk bull Sh*t, armchair races, It's not Cal's Chassis so much as the engine/electronics, like some have quite rightly said, it's theh way the Honda's get to their top speeds, Cal didn't stand a chance of a tow as the works bikes just pulled away so quick he was left out of the slip stream... he maks it up on the brakes and corner speed... look how close he was by turn two after been left for dead on the straights... Please go do some racing before making silly statements...

Cal says what he thinks, that may go against him, but I've never once thought he came accross as an excuse type of person, he's stating facts that's all...I support him and Rossi,as well as others,( I'm not biased) at that level they are all so talented, even the guys at the back would leave us mortals for dead on a track.... so just becasue you have done a couple of "Track" days don't think you know it all guys OK..

Here's to a great "safe" seasons racing lets enjoy and respect A

why is everybody saying that his bike is no match compaired to the factory bikes when clearly it is, he has been top of the time sheets over winter and qualifing so what his problem when it comes to racing?????????. Cal is the problem, he's only good for a couple of quick laps and thats it, he has no cosistancey over a race and he is brutal at overtaking, just look at last year, Dovi was on the same bike and he could never overtake him and when he tries he makes mistakes or crashes. One lap wonder is all he is. over rated

Yet again a case of blind bigotry and ignorance......he can be quick in testing & practice because he has a clear track to get the best out of what he has, in a race situation however he has to deal with bikes in close proximity that are quicker off the turns and down the straights but hold him up thro' the longer sequences of corners. Lorenzo is a prime example, with a clear track he sails off serenely into the distance, the disadvantages of his bike are nullified.

Re Cal-Big-Headed
1, Cal obviously is good for more than a "Quick" lap as he managed to stay with Pedrosa and Marc until he did a silly thing and run onto the rumble strip and couldn't brake hard enough to make the corner! yeh go watch it again... that's why Cal missed the turn, not because Rossi was in his way... Rossi would beat him anyway I'm sure of that so I'm not taking anything away from VR.

2, Cal's style of riding is one where he carries high corner speed which he could not take advantage of as the Honda's seem slower in but quicker out so his riding style was hindered, not a problem if you can get close enought to outbrake and get into the corner but both Ped/Marc are both late breakers too (as Dovi was)so it would be hard but he MAY have been able to, but he needed to do that well before the straights.

If he had the same acceleration out of corners as the works bikes he would have been able to slipstream and pass... that's what Cal's issues are.

1 Lap Wonder ! I don't th
