Christ, to read some of these comments you'd think the guy had done a Stefan Bradl i.e. nowhere near the front then chucked it down the road. And Bradl is on a factory Honda!

If Crutchlow isn't quite at 'alien' level yet he's certainly not far from it, and is already much faster this year than last. Lets see how he goes on tracks that don't depend so much on outright top speed.

@ pp916

Here is the bottom line: The T3 bike is a podium capable satellite bike. It was on the podium 8 times last year between Dovi and Cal. All of the B.S. about Cal's bike is negated if we remove the Honda's from the picture completely, and focus solely on Crutch vs Dovi last year. Same bike, same team, different riders ( who has a hard time passing and generally doesn't have an answer when passed)...and one of those riders managed to podium that bike 6 times. The other got 2 podiums, but sure had a 2nd half of the season full of wrecks or DNF's.

Why all these verbal attackes on a someone who can ride a bike better than probably ANYONE posting on here? I've followed racing since Geoff Duke and John Surtees in the 50's and simply cannot understand why the intense hatred for the riders you don't 'support'. I am not a Marquez 'fan' but his debut was incredible. I was definitely not a Casey fan, but I do miss the way he rode these things! He was awesome. I am just glad we got some good racing yesterday and I have to say that Cal has performed way above what I thought he was capable of. So well done Cal.

"Valentino Rossi caught the group in the closing stages, the Italian using his Factory power to ride around Crutchlow along the main straight. "

what a naive statement from Crash net. Yeah right.... Rossi could still destroy Cal on satellite. Remember Dovi wiped the floor with Cal on equal machinery. So it's not down to bike. Plus Rossi didn't beat Cal in straigh, he beaten him before that. Plus Rossi also defeated faster Hondas, so it was not due to the speed of his bike. and if you must know, cal uses factry engine/power delivery. so crash net if you don't know jack, please be quite. and by the way syour mate is fishing now!!

From Cal Crutchlow himself via Twitter:

Cal told Neil Hodgson... “Same as factory bikes engine wise ! Don't know why I lost so much mate on straight”.

That should shut up every attempt to claim some big power differential between his bike and the factory bike. So now we KNOW that he's got the power and we KNOW that his chassis is the same/similar to the 2012 unit Rossi was using.

Really there is a lot of really a deluded lot of people on here. The difference in GP is hundreths of a second. Any one on a factory or near factory bike are bloody good . Are its near impossible to make any diffence on sheer talent. The only time talent/balls shows is in the rain. Good ride by cal. End of story

You should remember Dovi destroyed him las year on equal machine. and yes, Rossi would still beat hem had them switched their bikes. Cal clearly had no speed disadvantage as he stayed with Hondas for most of the race and ony ran wide trying to brake hard like Rossi did. Cal, #46's shoes way to big for a SBK rider like you. You should understand your limid and be satisfied ith what you are capable of. if you think you're going to win a race having Jorge, Vale, Dani and MM in front of you? well you are deluding yourself.

and to remind you, Rossi won his first premier class title riding satellite Honda(Nastro Azzurro). so shut up and do what you can do best.
